Peters POV

I uncurl myself, looking out the window to see the pink light of dawn. Standing up, I walked to the sink, looking at my reflection.

I was met with dull brown eyes, pale skin, messy brown hair, and a tear streaked face.

Pathetic. So utterly pathetic. A complete waste of space.

Why am I even here, the world would be better off without me.

"Peter? A-are you awake?" A voice stutters from the hallway.

"Yeah, one second!" I quickly splash some water in me face, hoping to get rid of the tears.

I open the door to reveal an exhausted Bucky who —if we're being honest— didn't look much better then me.

"Bucky! What are you doing up? Are you ok? No offense dude but you just watched someone kill their puppy," I said, open the door and letting inviting him in.

"You don't look much better kid." Was his reply as he moved past me and into the room.

"You should know better then anyone, I haven't been a kid in a long time Winter." I sit on the couch and motion for him to do the same.

"Yeah. I ,um, I...I'm so sorry. Even as the Winter Soldier, I should have stopped them. No one deserves that life especially a child, and even with my words I knew that. Peter I am so unbelievably sorry you had to do through that. I-"

"Bucky. Stop. It was—in no way— your fault. You didn't do anything to me, even as the Winter Soldier you never even touched me outside of training," I looked down at me lap, fiddling with my hands, "Nothing that happened was you. You did nothing wrong. You were following orders. I never blamed you Bucky I promise." I look back up again to see that Bucky has tear slowly rolling down his face, sniveling softly.

I pull Bucky into a hug. "Now, what do you say we go get breakfast?"

He nods and we hard to the kitchen , where Bruce and Steve were working on on making around 200 pancakes.
