"Dammit, asshole! I loved this shirt!" I pout as I trudge through the mud. I look at him and notice he's on the ground laughing, with tears coming out of his eyes.

I narrow my eyes at him, "Oh yeah, laugh it up." I say angrily, "this is all your fault anyway!" He stands up and gives me a heart stopping smile, "Well, maybe you shouldn't play around in the mud, Babe."

"YOU PUSHED ME!" I yelled, flinging mud as I pointed my finger at him. "Hey, watch it!" He yelled, dodging out of the way as the mud flew towards him.

I give him an evil smile, "Oh Caden," I sing, "can I have a hug?" He gives me a deadly glare and spits out, "Don't even think about it." He starts stepping backwards as I stalk towards him. "Run," I say and that's all it takes for him to take off and me to follow after him.

I should probably explain how this all started.

"CORA WAKE UP!" I scream and roll off my bed as Jackson starts banging on my door. "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?" I yell back at him. He opens the door and jumps on my bed, "why are you on the floor?" He asks as he looks over my bed and sees me sprawled on the floor. I glare at him and stand up, "You scared the shit out of me!"

I glance at my phone and see it's only 8 o'clock, "Why are you up so early?" I groan and flop next to him on the bed. He gives me a sheepish smile, "I woke up because I was hungry, so I woke you up to see if you'd make me breakfast?"

I'm about to tell him to fuck off when my stomach growls. I sigh and get off the bed, "I'll make some French toast."

Once I finish breakfast, Jackson scarfs his down and falls asleep on the couch. I take my time since it's only a little after 8:30. Once I finish my food, I wash the dishes and head upstairs so I can pick out my clothes before I shower.

Caden said to dress comfortably, so I choose a pair of black NIKE shorts, my gray sweatshirt with NIKE written in blue, and my black NIKE sneakers.

Once I'm satisfied with my outfit, I jump in the shower. Once I'm finished I dry off, I throw my hair in a messy bun and put on a little bit of makeup. I check the time and realize Caden should be here any minute. I make my way down the stairs and write my mom a note, telling her I'd be back sometime later.

I hear the engine to Caden's bike as I walk out the door. I look up just as he takes off his helmet and our eyes meet. I look him up and down. Damn he looks good today. He has on a pair of black joggers, an olive green shirt and black sneakers. Once I reach his face, I see him smirking. I blush and turn my head, knowing I've been caught.

I walk over and he hands me his helmet, "Let's go, babe." I glare at him when he calls me babe, and hop on the back of the bike. "Where are we going?" I ask as we speed off down the road. "It's a surprise!" He shouts over the wind, I sigh and tighten my grip around him. I hate surprises.

The ride lasts for about fifteen minutes. We pull into a small parking lot and he shuts off the bike. We both get off and I look around, noticing there's nothing but trees surrounding us.

"Where are we?" I ask him, "you're not going to murder me, are you?" I look at him nervously and he shakes his head and chuckles. "Don't worry babe, if I wanted to murder you I would've done that already."

"Yeah that makes me feel so much better," I mutter sarcastically. He laughs and grabs my hand, pulling me towards what looks like a trail. I follow after him, trying to ignore the the bolts of electricity shooting through my hand that's intertwined with his.

We walk in silence for a few minutes until we pass a huge mud puddle. "Watch out for the mud," he says and goes to walk around it. Before I can say anything, his hand shoots out and the next thing I know, I'm face down in the mud.

Present Time

I'm laughing like a mad woman as I chase Caden through the woods. I notice a clearing ahead of us and Caden takes off even faster. Once we reach the clearing, my steps falter.

In front of me is the most beautiful lake I've ever seen. The water is a bright blue, and the mountains behind it stretch on for miles. I don't even notice Caden walk up to me until I hear him say, "Beautiful isn't it?" I jump slightly and nod, not being able to find the words to describe its beauty.

I look over at Caden and blush when I notice he's already looking at me. I narrow my eyes and let out a low growl when I remember I'm covered in mud. Caden's eyes widen quickly and I jump on him, tackling him to the ground.

"You. Did. This!" I say to him and start rubbing my muddy hands on his shirt. In one swift movement he flips us over so he's on top. I gasp when my back hits the ground.

"Caden what are yo-" My breath catches in my throat and my eyes widen as I look into his eyes. His once dark blue eyes are almost black as he looks down at me with an unreadable expression on his face.

Our eyes stay locked as he start to lean in. I can feel his breath on my lips. My heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest. His lips brush against mine and my eyes flutter closed.

I can't believe I'm about to kiss Caden Maddox, again.
