HEY GUYS I'M BACK!
Sorry it's been so long, I've had a lot going on.So this is probably one of the most important chapters of the story, and I worked really hard on it, so I hope you enjoy it.
It is a little short, but i promise the next chapter will be longer.
All of this is from my own imagination, so please don't say I copied someone or try to copy my work. Thank you.
Enjoy!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"So, what about Caden?"
My whole body stiffens and I look down. I care about Caden, I do, but I don't have feelings for him. He's just a friend. Mason is the one I have feelings for.
"Hey," I hear Mason say softly as he puts his finger under my chin, lifting my head up, "What's wrong?"
I groan and throw my hands in the air, "What's wrong? Caden is going to hate me!" He scoffs and shakes his head, "Why does it matter, Cora? You're with me now!"
I shrug and look up at him, "Caden and I became friends. I don't want to lose that, Mason. Plus, you and I aren't together." Out of the corner of my eye I see my friends slowly start to walk away, not wanting to be in the middle of our drama.
"I know that, Cora," Mason sighs, "but we have feelings for each other. I want to be with you."
I give him a little smile and say, "I want to be with you too, but I want to take things slow." Mason gives me a heart stopping smile and says, "I still have to woo you, Princess."
And with that, he kisses my cheek and walks towards his class, leaving me standing in the middle of the hallway with my jaw touching the floor. As I'm walking to my class I get a text from Caden, "Meet me by my Bike after school."
I head to my last block of the day, Study block. It's the only class I have with Chloe. When I walk in I quickly spot her wild curly hair at a table in the back and rush over to her. I throw my stuff onto the table and flop down in the seat in front of her, "CHLOE!"
She jumps in surprise and drops the book she was reading. "Cora! What's going on?" I let out a sigh of frustration and mumble, "I need your help with Caden."
She furrows her eyebrows and looks at me questioningly, "Huh?" I groan and say a little louder, "I need your help with Caden!" Her eyes widen and her mouth forms into the shape of an O.
We sit in silence for a minute before she finally speaks up, "Just tell him you chose Mason, but you still want to be his friend. Simple as that."
I scoff and shake my head, "No. it's not that simple! I'm too afraid to say anything! Maybe I should just ignore and avoid him for the rest of the school year." Chloe listens to me ramble until she finally holds up her hand, signaling me to shut up.
"Listen, Caden isn't going to be mad at you. I'm sure he just wants you to be happy, and if that's with Mason, then so be it." This is why I come to Chloe when I need help. She always says the right things.
I give her a huge smile, "Thank you so much, Chloe. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you!" She laughs and flips her hair, "Oh I know. I'm the best." We both laugh and quickly switch topics.
I spend the rest of the time thinking about all of the ways I could break the news to Caden. It seems that Chloe's option is the best choice.
When the last bell rings, I take my time gathering my stuff up and slowly walk out of the classroom with Chloe.
"Do you want me to come with you?" She asks as we reach the doors leading outside. I sigh and shake my head, "No, I should do this on my own, but I wouldn't be opposed to you waiting for me by my Jeep."
I give her a sheepish smile and she chuckles, "Of course! I'll be waiting!"
We go our separate ways and I make my way to Caden's bike. When I notice he's not there, I stand in front of it, glancing around the parking lot.
"Hey," I hear from behind me. Thinking it's Caden I quickly turn around, but am shocked when I see Mason.
"W-what are you doing here?" I ask him quietly. He gives me a smile and throws his arm around my shoulder, "I was looking for you, princess!"
I push his arm off and give him a look, "Go wait by my car. I need to talk to Caden!" He pouts and starts to whine, "Why can't I stay here with you?"
I go to answer but am interrupted by Caden's voice, "So, I take it you two made up?"
Jumping slightly, I turn to face him with a sad smile on my face. "Hey Caden, um I came here to talk to about that."
He gives me a small shrug, "It's okay, Cora. I understand." I give him a quick hug and say, "I really hope we can stay friends!"
He gives me a small smirk, "Yeah we can still be friends, Cora."
I give him one last smile and turn back towards Mason. We go to walk off when Caden tells me to wait.
"Did he tell you everything, Cora?" I turn around confused, "What are you talking about?"
"Mason. Did he tell you everything?" Mason let's out a small growl, "Shut the hell up Caden."
Caden gives him a cocky smirk and looks at me, "Cora, would you like to know what Mason is hiding from you?"
I look at Mason, "Mason what is happening? What is he talking about?" He reaches for my hand and begs, "Nothing. I'll explain everything later. Just please come with me."
I snatch my hand away and look at Caden, "Tell me what's going on! Now!" Caden gives me an evil smile, but I see a hint of regret flash through his eyes.
"Mason and I bet to see who could make you fall in love first. Guess Mason is the winner."
