Icarus, Part 1

And he's so unreachable

Like how the stars shine half the universe away

Like how the sun hangs above you every day

And every morning you watch it rise, and every night you watch it fall

Like the feeling when you are too close to the stars and you look up at them and your eyes burn and ache

I feel that when I see him

Because he can never see me, he was blinded a millenium ago.

And he's so beautifully unreachable, and when I see him my heart twists into a knot

Because I know I can never hold him or make his eyes crinkle from the joy of his smile

He's just so damn unreachable.
