Chapter 30 - Afterwards

SO WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

Well Min Yoongi was arrested. Hoseok called the police and a huge trial came to follow. When questioned, the addict pleaded guilty, and claimed that it was 'A simple case of revenge'. He claimed that he had done it for his mother, but that did nothing to sway the jury, and he was given two choices: Either face capital punishment, or spend unspecified time in prison. Of course, he chose the latter. It was later confirmed, much to the anger of many, that Yoongi would only face two years due to lack of evidence.

Hoseok visited him often, asking questions only to come away with even more. Jimin however, couldn't even face going to court, and became extremely upset whenever Tae's name popped up.

As for Jungkook, he barely ate for days after the murder. The only person who could even talk to him was Hoseok. Eventually, the two partnered up and created a similar system to the one Tae had used before.

He worked as a stable hand every other day, and polished shoes on his days off. If he ever had any money to spare, he donated it to the hospital that had taken care of Jimin and Tae all that time ago. Hoseok continued as a professional jockey, but whenever he won a first place, he always dedicated it to Taehyung, and any money he made went towards the homeless support charities.

And then there is Jimin - the ex K-pop idol who never gave up. He trained and trained until he was accepted in the Korean Paralympic team. By taking part in high speed races and even basketball, the idol maintained his fame, but never forgot his little friend.

He took to drawing in his spare time, and would often sketch images of Tae. He had one particular selfie they both took on his phone printed off, and he always kept it in the pocket of his shirt as his good luck charm.

But I bet you are all wondering about Namjoon, and, of course, Jin.

That is where the good news... stops...

Several days after Taehyung's death, Namjoon began suffering from several mental illnesses. Depression was the one that hit him the hardest, and even though he always tried to smile like Tae had told him to, there was never a day that passed that didn't end in tears.

Jungkook tried to help: he tried to cheer him up and help his depression; he tried to feed him nice things like pink mochi to cure his anorexia; he even tried to cure his anxiety by playing soothing music and speaking gently to him all the time, but nothing could fix Namjoon's broken heart. It had already cracked into too many pieces.

On the 13th of June that same year, Namjoon took his own life.

Police identified his body after fishing it out of the river, but only three people attended the funeral.

Jung Hoseok,

Park Jimin,

And Jeon Jungkook.

Now, this is where it gets even worse...

See, Namjoon had been good all of his life - one of the best and kindest people in Korea, but in the afterlife, suicide was viewed as the ultimate sin.

As a result of this, Jin had no alternative but to give him the choice.

Speaking of Jin, that brings us on nicely to our final part.

Namjoon was the final name on his list.

He became a full fledged reaper on the 13th June, and even had a nice young apprentice to start teaching.

The apprentice's name was Kim Namjoon.
