"Tae! I have a free day today!" Namjoon grinned. "Want to hang out at the park? It will be just like old times!"

Tae stared at him confused. Where was this coming from? Namjoon never got free days...

"You got fired didn't you?"

There was a pause.

"Maybe..." The older boy smirked sheepishly. "But that is besides the point! We have plenty of money because JK works too! I just wondered if you wanted to spend the day with me since we haven't had chance to recently."

Namjoon gave him a soft smile. He wanted to try and help take Tae's mind off the newspaper, and he figured that they could both have some fun in the process.

With a quick roll of his eyes, the younger accepted and they left the den shortly after Jungkook, who went to work as usual.

Yoongi wandered off to do god knows what somewhere else.

When they arrived at the park, it was surprisingly empty. The only people around were the young mothers pushing little black prams, or the teenagers throwing tacky, chewed plastic Frisbees for their oversized puppies.

They sat down at their favourite bench and looked out over the pale green grass which appeared to be flowing like a river due to the breeze ruffling it up. The sky was a soft blue, scattered with faint, wispy suggestions of clouds, and the sun lit up the whole park, kissing it with a pale glow.

"I wonder if the park will always look like this..." Tae murmured to himself. "Or if one day this utopia will be destroyed along with everything else?"

Namjoon shrugged.

"That is too deep for me to think about this time in the morning." He complained, stretching his limbs out with a happy sigh.

The pair chatted all morning. It was just like old times when Tae was a young boy of about seven who could talk the hind legs off a donkey, and when both of their energy levels just never seemed to run out.

Just then, a smirk crept over the younger's devilish lips and he turned to face Namjoon.

"You're it!" He said quickly, darting away as fast as he could.

Namjoon, who had been taken completely by surprise, jumped up and laughed, shocked at the sudden change in atmosphere.

"YAH!"

He darted after the boy, laughing and panting.

Anyone passing by could have mistaken them for brothers. They seemed to get along so well and have so much fun.

When tag had worn them out, they laid down on the grass and caught their breath.

"I have a surprise for you." Namjoon smiled.

Tae's eyes twinkled at the word and he grinned.

"Which is?"

The elder reached into his pocket and drew out a slightly crushed brown bag. Inside it were three light pink mochi.

"One for you," Namjoon smiled, handing one to him. "One for me. One for you."

Tae wasn't falling for it again.

He bit his second one in half and forced his friend to eat the other half.

"You have to make it fair." He smiled, tucking into his last whole mochi.

"Hey, do you have your phone on you?" Namjoon asked, holding out his hand.

Tae gave him the black screened phone and tilted his head. He spoke with his mouth full.
