Chapter 3 - Restart

        I walked to my car pissed off, today could have gone way better. "Brittney!" I turned and looked at Jade, who was walking with Alice over to my car, "Yea?" I asked confused, they hadn't said a word to me since Damian's little outburst. "Did you forget already? We're taking you shopping." Alice said chuckling, I looked at them for a second, "Oh, uh, okay." I said shrugging, I still wanted to go. "Great, I'll drive my car and Alice will ride with you." Jade said smiling, Alice walked over and got in the passenger seat of my car, I got in the drivers seat and got buckled. "Are you guys gonna get in trouble for this?" I asked Alice as I backed out of my parking spot. She shrugged, "I don't know, probably, but we don't care. The stupid rules they made are so unfair, and Jade thinks there's something special about you, and she's always right." Alice said casually, I was confused, I didn't understand what she meant by rules, and me? Special? There was no way I was special. "What rules?" I asked after a second, Alice laughed, "Wow, I said Jade thinks you're special and you ask about the rules, gezz." She said smiling, I chuckled, "The rules are that we can't make any new friends, we can't talk to people that aren't... like us. We can't tell anyone about us." She said shrugging. I nodded slowly, "So I guess that means you can't tell me what you mean by 'like us' then." I said chuckling, she laughed and nodded. "Can you tell me who made the rules?" I asked looking over at her, "Uh... Damian and Damon." She said slowly, I nodded again. "Why doesn't Damian like me?" I mumbled, "I'm not sure." Alice said sighing, I shrugged, I didn't really want to talk about him anyway. We pulled into the mall parking lot and got out. "Okay, so I was thinking we should go to Hot Topic first." Jade said as we walked into the mall, "Okay, you guys lead the way." I said smiling. We walked to the second floor and into Hot Topic, I looked around and smiled. "Okay, me and Alice will find you clothes to try on." Jade said smiling

        We spent almost 3 hours at the mall, going to different stores, trying on clothes, getting makeup and accessories. After we finished shopping we went to the food court. "How about Chinese?' Alice asked as we walked to the food court, "Sure." Jade said smiling, "Sounds good." I said. We walked over and ordered, we all got general tou's chicken. "So after this we'll go to your house Britt, and we'll get rid of your bad clothes." Jade said as we sat down, I smiled, "Okay." I said, "Yea, and then me and Jade will come over before school and help you get ready." Alice said smiling while looking at her phone. "Who you texting?' Jade asked teasingly looking at Alice. Alice giggled, "Alec." She said smiling, I chuckled then sighed and looked down. "What's wrong?" Alice asked looking over at me, I shook my head, "Nothing." I fake smiled, neither of them looked convinced. "Come on Britt, what's wrong?" Jade asked putting her fork down, I sighed, "It's just that everyone has a boyfriend, and then there's me... I just feel like I'm not good enough or something." I said looking down, I wanted to cry now. "Oh, Brittney!! That's not what it is, you too good for people, especially in our school." Alice said touching my arm, I flinched as soon as her fingers hit my skin. "What was that?" Jade asked confused, I tensed up, "Uh, nothing, I just wan't paying attention and it scared me." I said quickly, I knew she didn't believe me, "Well I'm done." I said getting up, they fallowed. We walked out to our cars in silence, I didn't really want to talk anymore. "You lead and I'll follow you to your house." Jade said walking to her car, "Okay." I said opening my car door, I waited until Alice was ready, then pulled out and drove back to my house. We pulled in and walked up to my door, "Oh, don't tell my mom what we're doing, she always yells at me when I get rid of clothes." I said as I opened the door, the both chuckled, "Okay." Jade said smiling, "Kay." Alice giggled.

        "Brittney? That you?" My mom called as she walked out of the living room, "Yea." I said smiling at her, "Oh, made some new friends?" She asked looking behind me, I chuckled, "Yea, this is Jade and Alice, guys this it my mom." I said smiling, Jade waved and Alice giggled, "Hi." She said smiling. "Hi, but you guys can call me Clara." My mom said smiling, "Clare? who's he-" A tall man with light brown straight hair said walking into the hall, "Oh, uh... Hi." He said smiling awkwardly, "Uh, mom?" I asked looking at her, she smiled at me, "Britt this is Keven, my boyfriend. Keven, this is my beautiful daughter Brittney." She said smiling, he nodded, "Oh, nice to finally meet you Brittney." He said smiling at me, holding his hand out, I hesitantly took it and managed a smile, "Nice to meet you to." I said taking my hand away, "Well we're gonna go up to my room." I said motioning for jade and Alice to follow me, we quickly went up the steps and I shut my door behind us. "Well... that was awkward." Jade said chuckling, I nodded, "I didn't even know she had a boyfriend." I said slowly, I was okay with this, I didn't like Keven, and I didn't know why. "But lets just get this done, I can't wait for tomorrow." I said smiling. They both nodded and we went to work, we bagged all my old clothes and tossed them out my window, then they helped me put my new clothes away. After about an hour we finished. "Thank you guys." I said smiling as I sat on my bed, "No problem." Alice said, Jade smiled. "We have to go now tho, I'll be here around 6:30 tomorrow." Jade said standing up, "Okay." I said getting up, I walked with them downstairs and to the door, "See you tomorrow." I said smiling, then I shut the door and sighed. Tomorrow was gonna be fun. I walked into the living room, "Hey, I'm going up to bed." I said looking at my mom, "Okay sweetie, goodnight." She said smiling, "Night." I said walking out of the room, I walked up to my room and locked my door, then I turned the light off and laid down.

        I woke up at 6:00 and turned my alarm off. I got up and unlocked my door, then went into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and my hair, then washed my face and went back into my room. I heard the doorbell ring and I ran downstairs to get the door, "Hey." I said smiling as I opened the door, Jade smiled, "Hi." She said chuckling. We walked back upstairs and she started going through my clothes, she pulled out a dark red short sleeved shirt, black skinny jeans, a black leather jacket, and black leather, knee high combat boots. "Go put that on." She said closing my dresser drawer, I grabbed the clothes and went onto the bathroom to put them on. I walked back into my room and Jade smiled, "Girl, you can so pull off those clothes." She said chuckling, I smiled, "Come on, sit." She said pointing at my bed, I sat down and she layered my hair and sprayed it with heat treatment spray, then she straightened my hair. After she straightened my hair she started on my makeup, she used eyeliner and made a small wing, then used a bronze colored eye shadow and gave it the smoky eye look, then she put lip gloss on me and stepped back. She smiled, "Okay, look in the mirror." She said, I stood up and looked in my full body mirror, my jaw dropped and my eyes got big, "Oh my god! I... Thank you!!" I squealed pulling her into a hug, she chuckled, "No problem Britt." She said hugging me back. I stepped back and smiled, "Guess we should be going now." I said grabbing my bag, she smiled, "Yep." She said, we walked outside and got in our cars. Once we got to school I parked next to her and got out, I looked around and saw people staring, "Well, I have to go get yelled at, so I'll see you at our lockers." Jade said chuckling, then ran into the school. "Brittney?" Mason said walking over to me, I smiled, "Yea?" I asked, he looked amazed, "Wow, you look amazing." He said smiling, "Thanks." I said, with a huge smile on my face, today was gonna be good.
