Felix POV
I woke up a little lightheaded and felt a warmth cascading over part of my body. My face was full of warm plush fur. I looked up slightly to see Blake holding me in his grasp. I wrapped my paws around him in turn, causing him to stir slightly.
"Hmmm?" He looked down at me. "Oh. Morning sweetie."
"Good morning hun, how'd you sleep?." I giggled and he blushed a soft tinge but enough I could feel his body irradiating heat. He kissed my cheek causing my face to get so hot I could hear the blood rushing, but I returned the favor. That's when something dawned on me. "Oh no.....it's Monday.."
We both looked nervously at the clock right as it went off. Blake sighed with relief. "Alright good I thought we'd be late.." I spoke first.
"Nah I set it right before we went to bed." He yawned slightly.
"That's a relief.." I got up and brushed my fur gently before going to my room to change. I put on my usual outfit then brushed my teeth in the bathroom. Blake followed shortly after but since i finished first I went to make breakfast. Pancakes and eggs.
He waddled in groggily with a big smile."I love pancakes."
I smiled and nodded. "Me too. But waffles are better.”
“Them's fightin’ words.”
“I'm good on that for now.” We both let out a chuckle.
When we finished eating we had about 30 minutes to kill before school. I asked if we could talk in the living room. He nodded. "Sure."
We sat down on the couch and I asked him something I'd been wrestling with in my head for awhile now. "What're we going to do at school? Won't people judge us?"
Blake POV
I had to ponder this. There were a lot of people that didn't care about homosexuality but there were also plenty that did care. The ones that did were mostly Brandon's cronies. I didn't care about them though. I wanted to be open about it with Felix.
"I think we should be honest. No one has the right to tell us we can't be happy." He smiled at my response then cuddled up to me.
"Wanna ride the bus so you don't have to drive?" He looked up at me.
"It'd save gas." I chuckled with him. Our recent outings had used quite a bit of it. However, it wasn't too worrying. "We should probably get going."
"Yeah.." Felix sighed.
Felix POV
I got off of Blake and we grabbed our bags. Once we were sure we had everything we started our trek to the bus stop. We held hands the entire way there. The bus stop had some new faces when we arrived. I was just glad we weren't the first ones there. One chocolate brown Labrador in particular saw us and jumped up and down. That species was so excitable.
"Ermm..what?" I asked awkwardly.
"Hi! I'm Kimberly!!! You can just call me Kim." She was about the same height as me. Eagerly waiting my response she stuck her paw out. I hesitantly shook it.
Her friend was next. "I'm Kylee! Nice to meet you." I shook her paw as well.
Lastly was a guy walked up to me with a huge smile on his face. "Ethan. It's a pleasure."
"Hi." I responded. "And this is my boyfriend Blake." The girls started jumping like fan girls again while Ethan stuck his thumb up.
"It's so rare to see homosexuals so open to us." Ethan seemed pretty happy to have met us like this.
“I suppose that's one way to put it.” I replied again quite awkwardly.
Blake POV
I kissed Felix's cheek and he kissed back inciting an "Awww" from the crowd.
"It's no secret why openly gay couples are kind of rare.." I thought of one guy in particular that'd impede anyone's movements.
"Brandon." Ethan nodded.
"Well he isn't very tough unless his cronies are around." Felix puffed his chest slightly. Ethan's, Kim's, and Kylee's jaws dropped.
"WHAT?!" They all gasped simultaneously. Me and Felix laughed pretty hard. It was mostly the odd unity of it.
Who are these guys?
When he collected himself, my little panther began to explain with exaggeration, "He tried to jump us so I beat up him and his posse." Felix gestured to his left eye. The swelling went down quite a bit already but you could still slightly see the bruise. They got a little closer. "Yeah it still hurts a little but it's fine." He hugged my side. Just then the bus pulled in. Me and Felix took a seat near the back while the others settled on the middle.
Felix POV
I smiled and cuddled Blake while we were in the back. He leaned back against the window so I could rest on his chest. We fell asleep like that for a bit until we felt someone tapping on our feet. Axel held up a phone to my face when I groggily woke up. It was full of pictures of me and Blake sleeping. I was blushing so hard you could see it through my fur. Axel giggled and put it in his pocket.
"Memories!!" He announced much louder than I'd hoped he would.
"Oh haha very funny." I scoffed. Blake giggled at me from behind so I silenced him with a kiss. We stayed like that until another camera click was heard followed by Axel's chuckling. I glared at him.
"What?! I can't help it!" We all laughed together and sat in silence until we reached school. Once we got off I held Blake's paw tightly feeling a bit nervous. He noticed this and secured his arm around my waist.
"It'll be ok I promise. I'll be here." I leaned my head on his shoulder and smiled as we walked into the commons. We sat at a table that was pretty secluded from everyone else. Some furs gave us odd looks while others didn't care. A few actually "awed".
I giggled a bit. "I guess some people do like us."
"Some don't but there's not much they can do about it. Doesn't matter anyway, it's not their life. We can do what makes us happy so long as we're not hurting anyone." Blake shrugged with a smile. I felt much more relaxed.
The day went pretty well. Of course there was a slur here and there, but a lot of Furs congratulated us on our bravery. It was pretty enlightening.
Our days seemed to look up after that. Brandon avoided us, school was smooth, and I was with the man of my dreams. With summer coming up I looked forward to spending more time with him.
