A Regretful Realization

Chapter 10: Retaliation

Felix POV

I flinched slightly under his gaze and and drew in a sharp long breath as if I had a knife to my throat. Fear kept me from saying anything....but who wouldn't be afraid? Especially when telling someone they like them and admitting deceitfulness? After awhile I grabbed his paw and led him back to our seats. We were pretty far from everyone there. The jump scares didn't even phase us at this point.

"W-well....I-I planned to u-use your k-kindness a-and status at s-school so I w-wouldn't be picked on.." I stuttered out with sharp breaths inbetween. My eyes stung slightly with tears. "I-I've had t-to deal with I-it all m-my life because of m-m-my p-pink fur and-" He held my paw to silence me and looked deep into my eyes. I was really nervous, especially when he teared up. I tried to go but he grabbed me and sat me back down so I was facing him.

Blake POV

I kneeled in front of him while he was crying. Obviously he was scared of what I'd say. I didn't care about what he'd tried to do... he had the integrity to own up to it and admit that what he did was wrong. Not many Furs today would do that. After a few moments of awkward silence I kissed him and held him tightly to me. It explains his actions but doesn't excuse them, but I forgave him because I understood it was hard even if I didn't understand being the victim he was.

When we separated I looked him in the eyes.

"I don't care if that's what you were going to do because you owned up to it...I forgive you and I still love you." I smiled warmly. Felix broke down and cried on my shoulder at that exact moment. I lifted him up gently in my paws. He rested his head on my chest with a small smile.

"I love you too.." He replied as I carried him out of the theater. The movie had just ended so there were some people glancing, staring and just kind of looking. Most didn't care it seems. They probably thought he was scared and I just held him proudly.

"You ready to go home?" I asked him.

"Yeah..can I sleep with you tonight?" I smiled at the question.

"Anytime, cutie." I winked and he blushed so hard I thought his fur was going to dye itself red. I snickered a little and he managed a small giggle.

"Good.." He replied. "I don't think I could sleep alone after that one.." I nodded in agreement. As we went out to the car I heard a deep laugh. My stomach dropped when I turned around to see Brandon and his regular asshole posse consisting of a German Shepherd named Landon and a lanky Husky named Cole. Brandon walked up to us solo with a huge smirk on his face.

Felix POV

I peaked over Blake and just about jumped out of my pelt at the sight of Brandon. The timber wolf looked down at me and smiled. "It's ok..we can outrun them....or fight.." His words filled me with a bit of confidence. 'He would fight this guy? For me?' I blushed and hesitantly stood beside him. He looked at me with a big smile. "Fight it is then."

Brandon laughed and called over his smaller crony. He was 2 inches taller than me with a slightly more built frame. His husky fur was dark green while his eyes were a lighter shade.

Blake POV

"As much as I hate to say this Blake..." Brandon smirked maliciously. "I can't allow queers on the team."

"You wanna get rid of your best wide receiver?" I rolled my eyes and he stepped back. He seemed to get it. "You'd have a hard time replacing me, I'm the fastest on the team." Felix's ears perked a bit.

"Football sounds like my kind of sport." The panther smiled causing Brandon to laugh in response.

"Just because you're fast doesn't mean you can hit hard." I signaled Felix to move on my mark. He seemed to understand and nodded. Brandon smirked.

"Try it runt." The large bear readied himself while Felix looked ready to body slam him.

Felix POV

I was ready to fight. The fighting stance I was using was something I learned in wrestling. Top of my class in my first year of Highschool for my fast movements to fault my opponent. I only did one year because I came out and wrestling with other guys, they were not happy about it... Brandon was quick to rush me while I was lost in thought, but I side stepped to the right and countered with a left hook to his ribs. While he was recovering from his momentum, Blake ran for the car. I was confused by this until I thought he was going to drive by and pick me up while I held them off. Seemed a bit backwards, but I don't think he's seen more than football for fights.

The husky chased after him but I was faster and managed to trip the canine to the ground. Landon ran up behind me but I rolled out of the way. The Shepherd couldn't stop resulting in him crashing into the husky. When I stood up I smiled at my handiwork. At that moment I felt myself getting lifted up. I'd completely forgotten about Brandon. Without any sort of warning he delivered a punch straight to my left eye.

Stars flew all around my head as I started fading in and out of consciousness. Before I could get hit again the sound of Blake's car speeding towards Brandon gave him incentive to drop me. Instead of running him and his cronies over Blake stopped and stepped out with a bat. They all left and Blake came to secure me in the car.

Blake POV

I fought tears as I secured Felix into the passenger side. I held them back, however, since I had to keep my eyes clear on the road. Once I got home I had tears streaming down my face while I carried Felix inside. Very tenderly I set him on my bed and got an ice pack for his eye. Shortly after I sat down and texted Axel.

"Axel....Brandon jumped me and Felix." I texted.

"What?! That son of a bitch!!" Axel responded.

"I'm fine but Felix got knocked in the eye pretty badly." I texted back.

"I'm on my way." Axel responded fairly quickly.

"Okay." I sighed. I realized this was going to lead to more drama than i had hoped.

I put down my phone and waited about ten minutes until I heard a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" I recognized Axel's voice. "Come in!" Axel entered and ran upstairs to my room. When he saw me his ears dropped.

Axel POV

I was pretty shocked when I walked into Blake's room. Felix's eye was swollen pretty badly. Probably would've been worse if Blake hadn't put an ice pack on it.

"He's ok except for his eye.." Blake said shakily.

"Hey, calm down ok? Did you guys at least get him good?" He nodded, explaining what happened and I sighed with relief. I walked up to my best friend and gave him a big hug. Even though he wouldn't say it Blake needed someone there for him.

Felix stirred slightly and our ears perked. Blake smiled, rubbing his panther's cheek in his paw.

"Felix?"

"What? Huh?" Blake smiled and gave him a big hug. At first Felix was kind of confused but hugged back anyways. I took this as my sign to go. They really looked cute together though.

"I'll catch you guys later." I waved at Blake and he waved back. Felix needed the one on one time and some rest.
