I was sitting in Mr. Tanner's class and happened to glance around and noticed the new guy starring at Elena. Apparently, Bonnie had texted Elena the same thing. Class let out and I texted Care I was going to walk to the grill. I decide to run there. I still need to keep in shape after all. Caroline was sitting with Stefan, Elena, and Bonnie so I decided to go play pool instead. For a while all I could do was glare at Elena for hurting Matt the way she did. All of a sudden, I got a vision of a blond hair girl and I could sense she was a vampire but desperately looking for love. She was perfect for Matt. All he needed was to be buffed up a bit, and I had a solution for Vicki. I walked into the manager's office and laid down $300.

"Matt and Vicki are working here for the next 3 days on paper, but I'll be borrowing them for a few hours each day. You'll get the same amount every week, but Matt gets a raise, Vicki gets treated better, and this stays between me and you."

The manager took the money and nodded. "Matt just got a $4 raise. Vicki just got a $2." manager said "The days you borrow them, they better not come in late."

 "They won't." I said

I walked out to Vicki first. I dragged her outside with me.

"Okay first things first. I'm not going to tell you to stay away from Jeremy. He likes you and is trying to help you. This information is for an online job with a company I started. I need someone who can use their words to sell and someone can categorize other incoming information. Now before you say you don't want pity then you seriously prioritize what is important in your life right now. Your brother is right now working more hours than he is home, school, or football practice combined. One day you are going to want out of this town and this may be your best shot to help yourself and your brother." I said

Vicki for a while just stared at the business card before taking it.

"I'm also doing this for Jeremy. If I can get you out the habits you keep maybe you can drag him with you. Everyday come to my house I'll train you and set you up on the computer. The job is five hours a day five days a week. You get paid every two weeks. The start out is a $80 a day. If you turn a big project then you'll get 15% commission. Work hard and evaluation is every 6 months."

For the first time I think in Vicki's life, she had a bit of hope that something good can come into her life. I saw Vicki truly smile for the first time since we were eight years old. The next person I talked to was Matt. I knew Matt never was going to stay away from this town. I knew it was only a matter of time before the supernatural caught up to this town and I wanted to be prepared. I saw Vicki go up to Jeremy and kiss his cheek before walking away and all I could do was smile when I saw Jeremy's face light up. I dragged Matt aside and told him all about what I thought of Elena. I also told him that he didn't need her in his life in that aspect, that all he needed to do was wait and true happiness was coming for him. Matt was always the kind to be there for you and willing to help you whenever you needed him. That was the best thing about Matt. I could see him becoming a deputy and working his way up to sheriff after Liz retired. I told him I was building a tiny house in the backyard for me. The structure was already built but I needed to put the furniture and stuff in there. I was turning it into a studio/office/home/sanctuary. I told him I would pay $50 a day and I would throw in lunch. Of course, he said he had to talk to his boss but he would get back to me. I was more than happy to help my friends, especially if it made them feel better. Care saw me send one last glare at Elena and she already knew that I would just sit in the car and wait for her.
