The Odd Twin Out

Chapter 3

The bonfire was blazing and people were drinking. I actually saw Jeremy and Vicki talking in front of others and completely sober. Tyler was being himself and was wasted. I watched Elena talking with Stefan after he harshly put Caroline down. I comforted Caroline and looked around Vicki. I could just feel something was going to go wrong.

 "HELP!" Jeremy screamed carrying an unconscious Vicki

"Vicki, what the hell?" Matt shouted

I ran over and saw blood on Vicki's neck from what looked like a bite mark. I yanked off my jacket and applied pressure. Tyler was trying to keep everybody back. Caroline called for an ambulance.

  "Matt, I need your belt. I NEED JACKETS AND OVERSHIRTS! PASS THEM TO THE FRONT! She needs to stay warm and I really need to slow down the bleeding." I mumbled to myself

I took the shirts and jackets and tucked some around Vicki while bundling up the smaller ones into pad shapes and using Matt's belt to tie them around her wound. I glanced around and noticed that Stefan was missing, but eventually I didn't care about that as the sheriff and the ambulance came. The ambulance riders quickly came for Vicki and I said that Matt and I would meet them at the hospital. I hurried up and got in the truck right as Matt was starting it. Jeremy hopped on the back. Vicki woke up for a second and said that a vampire attacked her then passed out again. I left Matt and Jeremy with her and caught a ride home. I got in my car rode to the nearest jewelry store before heading over to Mr. Salvatore's house. I called ahead and he knows exactly what I want. Zach Salvatore has the only vervain supply in town. I was picking up several plants and seeds to grow my own in my new sanctuary. I headed home and started my new arts and craft project. I made Matt, Jeremy, and Uncle John vervain chains that soaked in vervain water in the full moon for twelve hours. I made vervain lockets for Caroline, Vicki, and Jenna with the same preparation. I made myself multiple options such as earrings, a locket, and a bracelet except mine was soaked for twice as long. I used the water and told Jenna it was a new seasoning method and made dinner with it. I vowed to get more vervain stuff in the house. I knew something was going down but figured nobody should be going for us so everything should be ok.

Months Later

 AN: This part takes place after the mascaraed ball and Lora gets kidnapped with Elena. Grams didn't die. I will flashback to that later.

  I feel groggy. I can hear talking and then a slap. I wake up and look around.

 "Ah, sleeping beauty finally woke up. You put up a lot more fight than your sister. My men had to beat you unconscious before even attempting to drug you." The man said leaning close to her

 "First of all, you can back up or you will have another fight on your hands. Two, where are we? And where is Elena?" I said getting my head together

"Well I always did like them feisty. My name is Travis. Her name is Rose. We're vampires."

  I froze and the first thing going through my mind was what did Elena get us into. I turned to Elena and noticed she wasn't even surprised. I started thinking back over the last few months and remember Jeremy dropping hints such as when Vicki and him broke up and she left to travel. Jeremy said she was going through some stuff and would be back eventually. I remember having nightmares about this blonde and going to Sheila and she said she would take care of it. She introduced me to Lexi and now I have a new friend. I remember dad telling me stories of how vampires were evil but some were different for whatever reasons and that they needed to be studied. I turned to Elena and glared.

"What did you get us involved in and is Jeremy ok?"

"I was trying to protect-"

 "You're not our parents Elena. You're not the only one who mom and dad told the stories to. I could have prep us for this. Does Jenna know?"

"Please Lora-"

"Just don't."

Travis and Rose just watched until we all heard a movement upstairs.

  "He's here. We should just leave them here and run. Running kept us alive so far." Travis said

When he grabbed my arm I read his story and the reasoning behind doing this. I actually pitied them. While I was reading Travis, events were still going on and I caught my first glimpse of Elijah. Elijah was talking to Travis and Travis was apologizing. I could see it coming and stepped in front of Travis blocking Elijah's hit.

 "They have done you a good service in return for a mistake commonly made in regards of Katerina Petrova. Let them go. You made the deal. Leave them be." I said 

 Elijah backed off We heard another movement upstairs. Elijah snapped around to Rose. "Who else is here?" Elijah almost growled with annoyance "No one. It was just Travis and me."

Rose answered Elijah grabbed Elena while she begged Rose to save her but Elijah was gentle with me as if I was something precious. We were all walking up the stairs when we heard cracks behind us. Rose and Travis neck was broken. Elena and I were snatched and I was being held by Damon. I struggled and my screams were being covered. I was more terrified of Damon than Elijah.

 "I don't know who you are, but I will say this. You are fighting a battle you will not win." Elijah said

 Elena decided to do something crazy and actually tried to trade us for the Salvatore brother's safety, but she quickly threw a bomb in his face. Stefan tackled Elijah and Damon staked him. I was already running for the door and one of the three cars outside. I jumped in one of the cars and hotwired it before Elena could even get past the front door to the porch of the house. Elena was obviously on good terms with these vampires so I left. Instead of going home, I went to Caroline's I confessed I knew she was a vampire and we told all our secrets. Caroline couldn't tell me about Elena because of a promise we made when we were little to not snitch on our friends. The following day I met up with Jeremy and talked to him. Needless to say, Elena and I are not on speaking terms right now. I went to Sheila and told her what was going on and she said she would talk to Bonnie. We sat and studied the grimoires together and I dreamt of two male witches coming to town with a very large collection of grimoires. I had an app on my phone that connected to a metal ball filled with small metal beads that when released in a matter of seconds copied anything written and even translated it to another language. When they arrived, the plan was to wait until they leave and activate the app and drop the ball in their place of residence and I get all those grimoires copied before the anyone even noticed. It should take about twenty minutes.
