Melinoë's POV

The city was large. Too large for my liking and that put me on edge. The risk of getting lost, mugged or killed was strong and I had nothing to help me around. By the time I had found somewhere to eat, I found it to be pleasantly quiet. Not many people, but I saw an empty ass table and it was reserved for a group. I hoped to eat quickly so I picked the easiest thing on the menu. It would take seconds to make and eat. I thanked them and waited for it to come through.

By the time I had eaten my salad, I realised that I had zoned out. The table behind me was loud and filled with voices. I kept as quiet as possible to avoid the attention. It was a large group for sure as all of those tables were aligned. My face stuck to my food as I finished paying the bill and began leaving. I kept myself to myself but unfortunately for me, life was against me.

"Hey. You were at Pax weren't you." He was not questioning it he was stating a fact that I could not deny. I had been at Pax and so I felt myself nod before I could think. There it was and there was no coming back. My face was lifted and there he was, Smii7y.

"You really shouldn't be so nervous." I again nodded and left with my head down. The whole city put me on edge. Never mind the fact of it being another continent and also a new culture. The fact that the BBS team were behind me slipped and didn't matter because I didn't care.

Deciding that stress was not the best thing for me at any moment I walked on and got into a taxi. The driver was overly kind but I just smiled and nodded. The hotel room had my laptop and I was going to have some fun at the group's expense.

When I arrived I paid the driver and got to my room before any more talk could begin with anyone else. My room was as close to the lift as it could have been and so I kept to myself. No words spoken as the thought of conversation destroyed me.

"Hey. You look pretty cute. Do you mind if I get your number?" I stopped and hoped that it was supposed to be for someone else. It was not. He looked right at me and then he walked towards me. My legs grew weaker. He was very muscular and very nice to look at. His face showed kindness and his body was relaxed.

"Thanks, but I don't normally do that. I just prefer to keep to myself." I jumbled out and felt myself melt a little more as his fingers entwined with my hair. A smile was clear on his face but that was not all I could see. His slight facial hair made me gulp. He was too scrumptious.

"British? Very conservative. Well, I think that you should break that rule." I was too nervous but he wasn't pushing it anymore as I tried to step away. He let me do so and I threw caution to the wind. I nodded and then told him my number.

"I would like you to know that I am not any political party. The conservatives do not have my vote but neither do any of them. It wouldn't be very neutral of me to do so." He laughed and I felt my phone vibrate. Only it was Smii7y. His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes watched me.

"Sorry. My friend wants to meet me but I am here and not there." The man nodded and his tanned skin shone a little in the sun that hid behind him. Like an epiphany of some sorts.

"That's all right. I'll just text you." He walked off and I crumbled. I didn't like strangers and I was worse when around someone I was a little attracted to. He was attractive but he seemed up himself as he kept doing the whole pushing thing with his hair and also my hair.

You really didn't come?

I had fucked up and Smii7y was not a happy bag of milk, not even a kiss. I would have to edit the photo pretty quickly and send it to him. I was off to my room and the door was shorty entered. The walls were all covered in the usual white with the bed made since I had left. I pulled out my laptop and set about working. That was when my phone went off.

See you tonight? I would like to get to know you better. XXX

He wasn't worth it but he also was. Besides, if I was safe he could do no harm. I was set on it and decided it was the right thing. My homeland would prevent us from being too serious and if he still tried I would hope that me blocking his number would prevent us from going too far.

All right. The bar at the bottom of the hotel? I am free in four hours. XXX

You have a date. XXX

He was too cocky. I wanted a person who would be less up himself but sometimes it doesn't hurt to be shown some attention and he wasn't wining and dining me. I would be having one drink. I had carried on with the photo until I felt it was ready. It was one of the photos with him. Taken from a short distance. Just like all the other people had taken. The people behind the scenes took it for us. Only, I was replaced by a box of some carton of milk.

The milk was animated and it had the small propeller hat and 3d glasses. A golf club was in hand and it was perfect. Even if I did say so myself. I was completely covered and the clock in the back had been edited so that it had no hands but a picture of a middle finger was in the centre.

Oh, ye of little faith. X

It was done. The photo sent and a smile on my face. Discord was left open but off of his chat. Only, he didn't open it. I thought that he may have just been busy but it told me he was on. I thought that he must have been playing a game and so I pretended not to care as I carried on. Trying to stop myself from chickening out of the date.
