In the life of Jina Gale-Yoon, there were three tidings that caused granule of tears to dribble out of her eyes socket and nearly impossible to come to a stop.
First, when Crystal Gale was born — oh how beautiful and colorful her world was the moment a weep of a little seraph serenaded in her ears.
Second, when faith decided her life was unduly captivated and cruelly took the life of her husband — the one she imagined would grow old together with.
Third, when Crystal was diagnosed with a rare disease — the day Jina began to despise everything.
She was mad with the world, to God, she wasn't even convinced if the beliefs taught by her parents could help the situation. She lost hope, the world dimmed to gray because while she had a plethora of ecstatic memories, the pain she felt outshines all that.
The constellation of stars above was no longer as exquisite as Jina last recalled, hell, she forgot how to see the universe without agony.
If it wasn't for life and Crystal's demands, Jina might be cornered in that unequivocal emotions for a long time and deciding to move on had never been lapsed in her mind.
But, time went on without strings attached and Jina sluggishly learned that it was possible to keep on living even though numerous kinds of affliction lunged at her.
Still, Jina never once asked to perceive her only daughter, her own flesh and blood, lying weak in bed with the critical lifetime in her grasp.
"Mom?" Crystal half whispered, rubbing her eyes exhaustively. "What are you doing here?"
"Hey, I'm sorry for visiting at this hour. Wonshik has something to take care of, so I tagged along. He's going to visit you as well once he's done." Jina wore her best smile as her hand stroked the crown of her head. "I missed you so much, my little angel."
Crystal grinned weakly. "I know."
Jina regarded her daughter's hidden efforts to look physically fit in front her and it further shattered her. Crystal wasn't acting strong, it was only herself who embraced her Moirai and made it as if being sick had become a part of her life.
Crystal was ready to die, but Jina would never be in position to let her go.
Swallowing hard, she took a seat on the bed. "Can we talk?"
