The Dead Queen

Chapter 4

Jacob POV*

"I can't believe they all fell asleep during the movie." I was woken up by the whisper of my mates voice before her scent drifted into my nose as if she was close to me when I could feel something be placed over me. It was the first time I heard her talk since we finished cooking and the first time all day that she came so close to me. Hearing her walk away I opened my eyes to see it was still dark and the other's was in fact sleep before a light was turned on and I found Cassiopeia in the kitchen. From the sound of it she was putting thing's away and washing dishes. Just when I was going to offer to help a light humming could be heard. Even though she wasn't singing out loud I could still tell it was my mate as I listened to her soft humming. I was surprised at the softness and the hint of sadness in her music. It was as if she was singing an lullaby that was slowly putting me back to sleep. The last thing I remember was was seeing her look over her shoulder back at me and saying something that I couldn't hear as I could hear her humming even after she had stopped. I don't really remember sleeping but the next thing I heard was someone calling my name and shaking my shoulder.

"Hey Jacob wake up already." I opened my eyes to see Emily looking down at me with the light of the morning sun behind her.

"What?" Was the only thing I could get out as I rubbed my head and looked around to see both Luke and Max walking around or looking at tv.

"You slept in, late. I can't remember the last time you done that, are you feeling okay?" Emily asked me as I saw my mate enter the room with a simply but french styled outfit heading for the kitchen before glancing at me and looking away.

"Im fine Emily." I couldn't tell if what I remembered from last night was a dream or reality but I do know something really was different about my mate other than odd dreams and strength similar to a dragons.

"Alright ladies and lazy's, now that king of sleeping in is up we can finally head out soon." Luke said as he passed me a change of clothes with the needed morning essential's.

"Where are we going?" I asked as he grinned and my twin walked away.

"It wont kill you to be spontaneous, why can't we all just go out to have fun." My mate said as she walked into the living room leaning on the back of the couch with a bored tired look on her face sipping at something in her cup.

"We are also going out for breakfast." Max said as I saw him turn off the tv to look at me.

"Your such a downer. Emily im going to stand out side the door and people watch." My mate said as she sat down her cup in the sink then went for the door before my twin ran into the room and cutting in front of her just as she was about to step out the door.

"Im not staying in here with the boy's another second I need air." Emily said before I was left alone for once under the hard looks of Max and Luke who eyed me with evil smiles as I sighed.

"This is going to be a long day."

Cassie POV*

"What a day huh Cassie? It's so nice out isn't it?" Emily of course asked my opinion for everything but I could care less about how nice the day was, I just wanted to get away from Jacob.

"Calm before the storm." I told her before I started to walk down the street passed our old job that of course had hardly any customer's now but so quickly without us.

"Oh come on, your not still mad at my brother are you? He said sorry which he rarely does to just anyone. Lighten up girl." I stopped to look back at her as she came up to me and gave her a sweet smile.
