Jacob POV*
Letting out a sigh, I made my way from my office with the intention of taking a hot shower but it seemed my feet had other plans as I went to the end of the hall to the door that lead up to my mates room. Opening the first door I was met with a fresh sight. Where there was plain walls there was now red Rose's and green vines circling the wall along the stairs in paint like a railing. When had this been put up and who done it? It couldn't have been another dragon because none was allowed in this wing of the castle and anyone setting foot passed the first door here was and unspoken death sentence not to mention the only smell in the staircase was mine and Cassie's so she had to have done it.
In the once empty room to my left with the one little window now had cream curtains, a rug and two shelves built into the wall with marking that I assumed is where the other planks would go that was sitting on the floor next to the oven blue walls. It seems my little mate had made quick work of the few areas I hadn't touched and it seemed good that I didn't. Moving up the rest of the stairs I got to the door of the room already seeing it slightly open and slowly peeped my head in. The first thing my eyes was met with was my mate's reading area I put in the wall on the on the side and under the window along with a queen size canopy bed I put regular Christmas lights around the top to go down each leg a long with creamy see threw curtains and ocean blue walls.
Along with the dressers, chair's and few paint cans an brushes, I see the form of my mate laid across her bed. Stepping in the room, I hadn't even noticed my own little smile until I saw myself in her mirror then looked down at her. She laid from side to side of the bed on her back and at least five books on the bed and a laptop that looked dead. Getting on one knee, I light brushed the little hair aside on her forehead and held it back before putting a kiss in its place before standing as I pulled off my jacket and placing it over her before turning to leave the room with a new peacefulness.
"Jacob?" I stopped at the door and looked back to see her sitting up on her elbow looking over at me as hair fell over her shoulders and the tired look didn't leave as she waved me back over then laying down as I chuckled.
"I'm sorry if I woke you. I wanted to check on you, more after I saw your door open." I told her as I sat on the bed and she turned to look at me.
"I forgot to close it, I had fallen asleep at some point of reading about dragon history online. Your name comes up a lot." She said and I nodded.
"I guess I am kind of famous. You alright?" I said causing a smile as I looked down at her in question. Since the night I told her of my true self I haven't once seen the full color of those deep amber eyes she had shown me but only tiny hardly noticeable glimpses.
"I'm okay, just tired." She said and I nodded though I couldn't help my frown as her eyes closed back.
"Jake? How's it going bro?" Emily's voice answered once I called her standing by the window in my mates room.
"Hey, and everything is fine but is there something else about Cassie you guy's didn't tell me? She seems oddly really tired." I asked but got a giggle in reply and noise in the back ground.
"Oh what, oh yea Jake was asking about Cass, hey Luke says it's nothing to worry about. It's like her energy just gets spent some days causing her body to feel drained but by nightfall she is on it looking for something to do." She said and I nodded with a sigh as I looked back at Cassie now in a more proper position before she turned over with a huff and her back to the door.
'Did you tell him that the days vary?' Luke's voice called in the background before picking up the phone.
'No I forgot about that.'
