Putting on my earphones, letting the world of music overwhelm my own self, I close my eyes. The music goes through my ear to the other then back. Like a pendulum in motion, every note ricocheted on my walls.

I walk to take a seat on my bed. Old photographs scattered above, bringing past memories from its grave.

I picked up the first picture I saw. It was a picture of you, and me. We were happy. Two souls who had come from being friends to lovers.

And from lovers to strangers. Is it not unfair? We had loved each other, so fully, we had forgotten the whole world behind us. And accepted the world in front of our hearts.

Are you not longing? For the love that flowed in perfect cadence. For the music that had ebbed too far from our reach.

Are you not longing?

Because I am.

-Are you not longing?
