2 weeks later

"Hunter hasn't contacted you has he?" Nick asks as he serves up dinner. I blink out my daze before answering.

"Nope, quiet on the Hunter front." Maybe a little too quiet but that would be my paranoia.

He nods and hands over mine and Lex's plate as John makes his way over to the table with Lex on his back. Lex giggles as John sits her in her seat, pushing her in.

We all sit in comfortable silence for a little whilst we enjoy the delicious pot roast. Lex hums whilst shoving spoonful after spoonful in her mouth and Nick and John just watch on in amusement.

We finish dinner and have just finished up with dessert when my phone chimes from the next room. As Lex says her goodnights' to Nick and John I head to the lounge to check my phone.

"Car? We're gonna go grab our work stuff, we'll be back in a sec okay?" Nick says as he plants a kiss to head and John follows leaving a kiss to my cheek.

I nod and smile, watching them walk out the door. I turn back to my phone and open up the message.

Unknown Number: C U Soon.

Picture message.

As I open the message, my stomach had dropped. It was pictures of me with Nick, me with John and then the worst kind... Intimate pictures of the three of us from my bedroom window.

My heart was pounding, the hairs on the back of my neck where standing and a cold sweat had passed over my body.

I was shaking as I moved towards the kitchen, my head begun to spin. I had no idea, who or where this could be coming from. I have no enemies, I assume Nick and John don't as they haven't said anything but jesus Christ, I haven't known anyone in this town apart from Nick and John and handful of others long enough to create enemies.

I wanted to chase Nick and John down but my voice had stopped. Panic had overtaken my body with force. I'd been so strong up until now, I had no idea what the hell was going on.

My head whipped around the room as I heard rustling outside, I swear I was going crazy. I had a bad feeling as soon as I saw those pictures, the bad feeling I had only doubled when I heard footsteps outside.

I had hoped it was Nick and John, At first I relaxed hearing two sets of heavy footsteps, but I soon tensed again as one spoke in a completely different language.

Breathe Cara.

I took a deep breath and headed quietly to the kitchen, I picked out the biggest knife I could find and hid behind the front door.

Clearly they had taking the back route, sliding open my back door and moving around the kitchen. I had quickly pulled out my phone in an attempt to get a hold of Nick or John. Just as I clicked Nick's number, a large body had barrelled towards me, knocking me back and sending my connected-call flying across the room.

I shook myself off and ran back towards the hallway to protect Lex, If we go by how things went down last time I'd be left knocked out just outside her room.

How wrong was I...

hand had caught the last part of my arm and pulled me back against them, my back against their chest as they dragged me back towards the back door. I stayed silent, kicking and trying to throw my weight around to free myself of the hold on me.

"I'm not supposed to hurt you but you're really pissing me off." The man who had me in his vice-like grip gritted out as I continued to thrash in his arms.

We'd managed to make it out into the backyard, through my back gate and into the driveway. Nick and John's house had just turned dark, I assumed they'd be heading over any minute, I wouldn't have to scream and they help me.

In what felt like less than a minute, I was thrown into the boot of a new smelling car, hitting my head on the way in, rendering me unconscious.

This is it...

Unknown POV

I didn't want it to be like this.

I never intended it to end up like this.

"I've got her, I'll be at the meet point in about 5 minutes." Ah what an efficient man.

"Very good, you shall see a hefty payment coming your way." I say swirling the amber liquid in my glass.

I'm a mix of emotions about the outcome. I mean of course it's not the best way to handle things but it became my only option. She'll understand, I haven't put Alexandra in danger so she can't be too mad right?

I just wished she was smarter, she would've seen the signs, seen this coming, she could've prevented this but no, those two gorillas had her protected from day one.

A car had pulled up just outside, I walked over to the front door and swung open the doors heading down the steps towards the car. The delivery man had opened the boot, I inhaled a deep breath and released as I saw her sleeping figure.

"My payment?" The man prompted.

"Of course." I pulled out a wad of cash from my back pocket, placing it into his dirty hands. I picked up Cara bridal style and carried her up towards the house as the delivery guy sped out my driveway.

I carried her inside and laid her down in the master bedroom, I left her in her clothes but tied her hand against the bed post and ripped away the tape from her mouth.

My hand caressed the side of her face, one that was marred in a purple bruise.

"Welcome home Cara.."
