Time to go.

"I see you've met my friends Car..." Hunter purrs as he slides his grimy fingers across my tear stained cheeks.

I refuse to show fear, no matter how fucking scared I am right now. I scoff at his term 'friends'. Ben would never be friends with Hunter and I know that for a fact thanks to his supposed 'trusted' PI who turned against him.

"You seem shocked.. Didn't think we'd be together so soon?" He smiles, as his goon followed him towards the edge of the room. His PI and Ben stood on the other side of the room watching the scene unfold.

"Well I am. Never would I have thought you would kidnap the mother of your child but then again... You were quite unstable the last few times we met." I know I've probably angered him by saying this but this guy has got to understand that I will not be trampled on anymore.

Regardless of whether I have Nick and John or not. Hunter and I have finished, I don't need this or him anymore. Hunter's eyes shone with rage as I made comment of his mental state. Surely anyone in this room could tell this man has got a few screws loose, right?

"You've got a mouth on you now don't you? Do your new men like this? Your mouth?" He asks creeping towards me with a sinister smirk adorning his features.

He comes to a stop right in front of me before abruptly pulling out a cloth from his back pocket and roughly shoving it into my mouth as his goon follows him by tying my hands behind my back.

What the hell is he thinking?

I'm not sure what the hell he's planning on doing with me but by the looks of things it's probably not good.

"Is that really necessary Hunter? That rope looks awfully tight..." Ben asks, concern lacing his voice. Ben is a little deluded too but I doubt he'd ever hurt me.

"Why are you still here? You provided me with what I wanted and you were paid. Fuck off." Hunter growls as he stares up at Ben. Ben didn't seemed phased by Hunter's aggression, He simply nodded his head before heading towards the door.

Just before he reached the door, Ben turned to Hunter and threw a vicious punch to the back of his head. I jumped in shock as I watched Hunter immediately hit the floor as his goon went at Ben.

I watched on in fear as punch after punch was landing on Ben's face. The PI had joined in trying to remove the goon from Ben. This had just turned into an all out brawl, I couldn't do anything but sit and watch.

Nick's POV

"Do you hear that?!" I whisper yell to John as we headed towards the house. Michael and Jason had trailed behind, keeping look out.

"Fuck. Just keep moving." John grunts as he pushes past me and bursts through the front door. The house was not what I was expecting...

The walls were littered with picture of a man and his son, a basket of children's toys sat messily by the archway to the loungeroom. The closer I moved towards the pictures the sooner it became apparent to me that we had just stepped foot into Ben's home.

What in the hell is she doing here?

"We'll head up, follow close and let us know how you wanna do this." Michael grunts as he fastened the guns to his hips. Jason trailed behind pulling out brass knuckle dusters from his pockets.

Okay I'll admit, watching these two saddled up for what they assume to be some killing spree; we didn't need this kind of protection. John and I can fight, pretty well I might add. This all seems a little extreme but then again it's better to be safe than sorry right?

As we reach the door we assume she's behind, we hear muffled voices and a few loud thuds. Before I can even offer my opinion on what to do, John has busted down the door. Standing in the doorway, his chest heaving heavily with his fist clenched by his sides.

I watch as a man and Ben tower over two other men, one being Hunter. Ben turns and looks terrified as he follows John's movements, stalking towards our Cara. Her honey coloured eyes lit up as tears begin to stream down her beautiful face.

Looks like the manual labour is done already....

"What the fuck have you done?" I storm towards Ben, grabbing him by his shirt. He shakes his head has he taps my forearm, insisting I let him go.

"I never meant for Cara to get hurt... this wasn't how it was supposed to go!" He yells, "You weren't supposed to be here!" He mutters, shaking his head.

John had Cara in his embrace, running his hands over her knotted hair and pulling out the makeshift gag from her mouth. Poor thing looks terrified, absolutely wrecked.

My attention was brought back to Ben has he made a move towards Cara and I immediately tensed and grabbed his shoulder before roughly pulling him back.

"What did you mean when you said this 'this wasn't how it was supposed to go'?" I asked, confused and frustrated at his riddles. He heaved and looked between Cara and myself.

He shook his head defeatedly, "It doesn't matter anymore... She's got you guys now." He says before shaking from my grip and storming out the door with the other guy in the room trailing behind him. Michael and Jason left the room to give us some privacy.

"Nick..." Her soft, jittery voice called out to me. I immediately rushed to her side, embracing her as John let her go.

"It's okay, we're going home baby, we've got you." I say softly, placing kiss after kiss to the side of her head. John gets up and heads to the door to notify Michael and Jason that we no longer require their assistance. They seem to leave without an issue.

I looked over to the two unconscious men sprawled out near us, wondering what to do with them. The irrational and angry side of me wanted to kill them for what they did and dump their bodies somewhere, but, that's not who I am.

I was brought out of my irrational thoughts as John walked into the room with his phone strapped to his ear, he was serious and composed as he spoke to whoever was on the other end. Cara laid limp in my arms, constantly nuzzling into my neck and sighing softly.

"I just spoke to our lawyer, I let him know what Hunter did and he's called the police and they're going to deal with the two of them. Ben and that other guy made a run for it, Jason grabbed Ben but the other one got away..." He says, pocketing his phone and leaning down to peck Cara's head.

I huff loudly, knowing this is all over. Cara is safe, I don't know what she went through in the week she was here but I hope to Christ it's nothing we cant manage. John pats my shoulder as police sirens sound in the distance, time to go.

"Time to go home baby, Lex is waiting for you." I whisper and she gasps, her crying becomes louder as i pull her closer.

We make our way out of the house and head towards John's car. Walking to the car, I make promise after promise to the beautiful woman laying in my arms.
