Amy's Pov

I walked down the steps hearing a bunch of yelling.

"You could have killed him!" I don't know this voice.

"I called for help and they got there in time to save him." That was Mark.

I saw one of my blankets on the table, I took it and wrapped myself up in it and kept walking.

"You know the rules." This was a different voice.

"He knows them as well." That was Mark.

"What are you talking about?"

"Miss. Amy. Are you okay?" It was from Carl.

"Who is yelling?"

"Some people that I'm sure Mr. Mark doesn't want you to meet. Let's get you some food." He guided me to the kitchen away from the yelling.

I sat on my stool with the blanket still around me.

"Can I help cook?" I asked.

"Miss. Amy, you know I can't let you."

"It was worth a shot. Why are they yelling at him?"

"He went a tad bit overboard when he went after James. But in my opinion, James got what he deserves."

We talked for a little as Carl made pancakes, he made some for Mark as well.

I felt two arms wrap around me.

"Hi, Mark,"  I said looking up at his dark brown eyes.

"Hi princess, how did you sleep?"

"Great until everyone started to yell. Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, James just didn't tell the whole truth."

"That's mean."

"I know baby." He kissed the top of my head.

"Something is wrong." I looked up at him.

"The people who were yelling are Council members which James is apart of."

"Oh shit."

"Yeah, well I explained that to them and they calmed down on my ass. But now, they want to meet you."

"Me? What did I do?"

"Nothing bad. Well, I don't know if falling for a criminal is a good thing." Mark chuckled. " they want to meet you because you are an innocent."

"Miss. Amy, it is rare for innocents to stay around. Normally they are here for a few months and leave. They want to go back home." Carl said wrapping my breakfast up.

"But this is my home," I said.

"Which makes your even more intriguing. You are an outsider who fits in with us. Your breakfast is wrapped up, when you are done we can heat it back up."

I nodded my head, Mark helped me off of the stool. He wrapped his arm around me as we walked.

"Are they going to keep yelling at you?" I asked.

"No, but they are going to ask you some questions."

"Great." I rolled my eyes.

He opened the door for me and we walked into the meeting room.

"Hello." A man seated said to me.

"Hello!" I said giving a wave.

"You must be Amy."
