"you who we suppose to meet?" a golden fox said with flattened ears. the white fox beside him looked around, almost disinterested in the situation. taeyong noticed the white fox's eyes first. they were two different colors, catching the feline off guard. his left was a bright blue while his right was a deep brown.

taeyong nodded, his hands fumbling to pull out the bag from his pocket. the golden fox grabbed it immediately and handed it over to the white fox. the once disinterested fox began to open it and roll himself a joint.

the golden fox smiled a friendly smile as he started to count out the cash. the feline's tail twitched as he eyed between the pair.

the golden fox handed taeyong the wad of cash and began to take the bag from the white fox. taeyong started the count out the cash himself, not wanting to get beaten for taking the wrong amount, again. the white fox had taken a few hits from the blunt already.

he took a pause and looked at the blunt then at the golden fox. his eyes were clouded with confusion and pain. he doubled over and started to vomit over his feet. the golden fox widened his eyes at the sight.

"sicheng? what's wrong?" the golden fox asked to the white. he pulled the bag up to his nose and took a big sniff. his nose scrunched up at the smell.

the white fox clenched his chest, breathing heavily. the feline's ears flattened to the sides, his claws protracting as the golden fox stepped closer, growling.

"what the fuck did you put in here, cat? glass? detergent, fucking what? it smells off!" taeyong's eyes dilated when the fox gripped at the collar of his shirt, pulling him up slightly. the cat's tail stood straight as he stared helplessly into the angry eyes of the fox. all his fear and memories were flooding back to him, "answer me, you fucking cunt. you want to die?"

the white fox dropped to his knees and curled up, gripping at his shirt. whining and growling was all that taeyong could hear for a few seconds before his breathing was cut off by a large hand. he opened mouth let out a strained gasp, his eyes trembling.

the fox shoved him against a wall, gripping tighter around his throat. the fox grabbed his hair with his free hand and pulled hard upward. taeyong shut his eyes tightly, clenching his teeth as his face began to grow red.

"what the fuck is in it? tell me!"

"i don't know," taeyong choked out. the fox loosened his hand, giving the cat some time to regain his breath, "i don't know,"

"bullshit!"

"i don't," taeyong's eyes welled with hot tears as the fox grabbed his face, holding him in place, "i'm just the errand boy,"

"johnny sent you right? that bastard. i'm going to send him a message, errand boy," the golden fox stated before harshly jamming his knee up into taeyong's gut. the cat let out a pained groan, shutting his eyes.

the fox let the cat drop, but he only gave him a few seconds to settle before he started to kick into the stomach of the cat. the fox put his hands against the wall to support himself better as he continued to kick into the cat.

streams of tears rolled off taeyong's cheeks as he took in the beating. he let out a shrill scream when the fox hit against his rib with the tip of his shoe. he started to cough out specks of blood, the metallic taste bringing him unpleasant memories.

"hey!" a low voice shouted from behind the fox, causing him to stop. there was a loud growl that got closer with accompanying footsteps. the fox was pulled back and away from the groaning cat, "back the fuck up, buddy,"

"who the hell are you?" the fox hissed at the stranger.

"none of your business, that's who," the voice was deep and made taeyong even more scared. he expected it to be one of johnny's meatheads coming to collect him. there was a scoff and the sound of footsteps walking away.

"baby, come on," the fox whispered. the white fox whined as the golden picked up him and carried him away.

taeyong raised his head to the stranger cautiously. he had large circular ears and a thin tail.

a wild dog.

his face was ripe with concern, his eyebrows knitted together. he crouched down to the cat, extending his hand out slowly.

"what happen, kitty?" taeyong cringed at the name. he hated the name. he despised that name. he was tormented daily with that name. he hissed and swatted at the hand.

"tell johnny i'm done with his shit. i'd rather be dead,"

"johnny? who's that?" the dog cocked his head to the side at the cat's statement. his eyes pooled with worry and guilt.

"don't play dumb," taeyong winced as a wave of pain coursed through him.

"kitty, i don't even know your name,"

"don't call me that!" taeyong grit his teeth as his ears flattened back in frustration. his short tail coiled up and the cornered of his mouth curled into a frown.

"i'm sorry. i'm jung jaehyun, what can i call you?"

"taeyong, i guess" the cat slowly tried to lift himself up, but before he could allow himself to, a hand extended out for a second time. this time, the cat took the dog's hand.

jaehyun flashed a small smile when the two were standing face to face. taeyong's face was smeared with his own blood. there was a large red line from the middle of his lip to his chin. from his left nostril, a streak of red when to the left. jaehyun's smile faded as he took in the damage.

taeyong looked at the dog. his hair was black, a nick in his left ear. his most defining features were his dimples. he only saw them for a moment for the smile was gone and with it too, the dimples.

"i live just around the corner. come with me," taeyong looked in the direction that the dog pointed to.

"i'll be a dead cat in a bag tomorrow anyway," taeyong said as he began to slowly walk, gripping onto jaehyun's bicep for support. the dog kept taking glances at taeyong the entire walk to his house.
