"Send them out of California. Out of the country even better." The Alpha of Winter pack said to his Beta. Michael's eyes widen in shock, "WHAT? You cannot do that!"

"So what do you want, Beta? Getting you and your family killed?!" The Alpha asked, you could hear the stress and anger in his voice. Josh, who sat next to Michael sighed. "I think it's better to send them away as far as possible than getting you both killed."

Michael lowered his head in sadness. No matter what the decision he made will result in him getting killed, he knew that. All he needed to do was keep his family safe. He didn't want to get separated with his family, he loved his mate and daughter beyond everything in this world. He wanted to see his daughter grow old and had her own family. The thought of never seeing the beautiful smile on his mate again killed him inside. He finally let out a loud sob. He cried. He let his pain out along with his tears even he could felt his wolf, Mike's heart breaking and he was howling in pain inside his head. The Alpha and Josh decided to leave Michael alone in his room and talked to him the next day.

No matter what I have to keep you guys safe, Michael promised himself.

Alice might not be a werewolf but she somewhat could feel the pain her mate feel. She was unconsciously pacing back and forth in her living room, she felt uneasy. "What happened, Michael?" she whispered to herself, hoping she would get an answer but nothing. Even their daughter could feel it too, her loud cry awoken Alice from her thoughts. Alice ran to her daughter's room and saw she was awake with tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" Alice embraced her daughter in her hands, stroking the brown hair on her head. Her daughter cried, buried her head in her mother's chest and wailed "I want Daddy! I want Daddy!"

Alice sighed deeply, she wanted Michael here too but she didn't think he would come back that night. She smiled sadly at her daughter and kissed her temple, "He will be here tomorrow, baby but right now let's go back to sleep, okay?"

"You promise, Eomma?" The little girl looked up at her mother.

Alice smiled and nodded before they both sleep on the small bed of her daughter.

It's been two days since the Alpha of the Blood pack visited and threatened him. Michael never felt so vulnerable and weak like this. He felt like a failure who couldn't protect his family. His wolf was hiding in the back of his mind, too hurt by the decision. Michael knew how Mike must have felt. A wolf who had found their mate and then got separated would slowly die and Michael felt guilty.

Michael held the letter in his hand that he wrote for Alice tightly. He tried his best not to let his tears fall again. Josh looked at his Michael in sadness, he felt guilty for not be able to help his best friend, but Michael understood. He wasn't mad at his best friend, at all.

"Michael, I'm sorry I cannot do anything to help you." Josh said to his best friend, his heart aching for Michael.

Michael smiled sadly at him, "It's all right, Josh. All I need is your support and you give that to me all these years, through my relationship with Alice. Besides, you have to protect your family too, you know I would do the same for you." Josh could feel the tears welled up in his eyes as he hugged Michael so tight.

After he managed to stop the sadness in him, Michael went to Alice's place. His heart dropped when he saw Alice with tear streaks on her cheeks. He immediately hugged her so tight while Alice crying her eyes out, "Where have you been, Michael?" she sobbed so hard, couldn't control the sadness and worry she felt for the past two days.

"I'm so sorry, baby. I'm sorry." Michael kept muttering apology over and over again while trying not to cry. He buried his face deeply into Alice's hair.

The couple finally sat on the couch in the living room, holding each other's hands tightly. Alice looked up at her boyfriend, "Did something happened two days ago? Why didn't you go back straight to us after?"

Michael sighed, he didn't know how to explain it to her. He gulped before started "I want to explain everything to you about what happened, but I don't want to bring harm to you and our daughter even more."

"Please just tell me. I'm worried about you too, you know."

He sighed, "You and our daughter have to go far away from here. Out of the country." Alice's eyes widen, "What? What do you mean? Why?"

"It's for your safety. I don't want anything happen to the both of you." Michael said, holding Alice's hand so tight. She shook her head, "What did actually happen, Michael? Was it that bad? When will we go? Will you go with us?" a lot of question Alice wanted to ask him, but she was too panic.

Michael tried to calm down his mate, "I can't go with you guys, it's better for both of you if you go alone." Alice shook her head even more, she didn't want to be far away from Michael. "No! I won't leave this city without you!"

Before Michael can say anything, he heard small foot step was heard from the hallway. Their daughter walked to them with a Teddy bear in her hand, "Daddy?"

"Good morning, baby girl." Michael smiled his best, he didn't want to worry her. Alice was wiping her tears so her daughter wouldn't see them.

"DADDY!" the daughter ran into his hold with a huge smile on her face. She missed her father so much. Michael smiled and kissed her temple, "How are you, beautiful? Do you miss Daddy that much?" His daughter giggled as he attacked her with tickles, "Stop, Daddy! It tickles!"

Michael finally decided to spend the day with his family. He tried his best to keep the memory of Alice and her daughter's happiness in his heart, knowing the danger that would come to him soon.

Michael sat next to his daughter on her bed, he was ready to tuck her to bed. She looked up at her father, "Do you love me and Momma, Daddy?" He smiled at her cuteness, he looked at his mate who sat on the other side of his daughter for a second before answering, "Of course, baby girl. You both are the most precious people in my life." She smiled sweetly, satisfied with her father's answer. After few minutes, she finally fell asleep. Michael and Alice kissed her head. Michael tried his best to keep the memory of his daughter in his mind, he probably wouldn't be able to see her again.

Alice buried her head in the crook of Michael's neck while he embraced her tightly. Michael cupped her face in his hands, making her looked up at him. "Baby, do you trust me? Do you love me?"

Alice nodded her head, "Of course, I trust you. I love you." Michael smiled softly, "If so, you have to trust me that you really have to go out of the country. It's for the best."

"But why won't you come with us? What will happen to you?" she tightened her grip on her boyfriend's jacket.

Michael sighed, "I can't. It's too dangerous. All I can tell you is if Josh came to visit you in two days and not myself, something bad happened and you have to leave the country immediately." Alice widened her eyes, "What? What will happen to you? I don't want to leave you knowing you'd be in danger!" panic filled her voice.

"Please, baby. Please trust me that this is for the safety of both of you. I don't want anything bad happen to you." Michael couldn't hold his tears now. Alice closed her eyes and shook her head, tears also fell down on her cheeks.

Michael pulled Alice's face closer to his and molded his lips with her. They could feel the tears of both of them on their kiss. The couple let out their sadness, desperation and love into the kiss. They both finally understood that this could be the last kiss they shared.

They finally let go of each other and Michael wiped the tears from Alice's cheeks, "Just remember I love you, Alice Park."

Little did she knew, the one who would visit her the next time was not her boyfriend.
