Hoping you'd hold my hand, this maze

Cold foyer
Every creak a delicate hope
Every hope a strangling rope
Every rope a ludicrous joke
Dwell in this place
Small apartment
Secret view of water blue
Knowing I'm some place near you
All my decisions, locked with rue
Dwell in this place
A little child's mind
Nightmares sneaking from behind
He exploits, she'd be kind
This hope to find, a noose to bind
Dwell in this place
Rooftop garden
Imagine myself, my dreams to skim
Your shoulder, I lean on, sunlight dimmed
Untied, your hair in the wind

Cold foyer
A memory lies in my mind, distraught
A scar, engraved, each past I fought
Slap myself, each inane thought
Dwell in this place
Small apartment
Pretend you stop me, the steps I pace
Pretend our thoughts are interlaced
Pretend I'm held in your embrace
Dwell in this place
A little child's mind.
A yearning for your presence here.
Stay with me, I'm dead in fear.
Hold me closer, hold me near.
