Shawns POV
My girlfriend of 4 years passed away exactly 1 year ago. She was my best friend, my muse, my rock, well just about everything.
Right now I'm sitting on my couch looking through pictures of us from when we first met. She looks so happy in all of them, I would do anything just to see her smile one more time
My thoughts were interrupted by someone ringing my doorbell over and over again
"What!?!?"I yelled at the annoying people, as I opened my door and saw none other than my best friends Zach Herron and Jack Avery
"Look guys I don't want to be rude but I really want to be alone right now" I told them in a slightly annoyed tone of voice
"You're going through something right now and we're not gonna let you go through it alone. That's why we're you're friends so get use to it Shawn" Jack said pushing past me and heading towards the kitchen
"What he said" Zach said while following Jack
A sigh of defeat left my mouth as I reluctantly followed them "so are you guys just here to talk to me or eat all my food?" I asked, entering the kitchen, and sitting on a barstool
"No we're here so you won't be alone and we can lift you're spirits. The foods just a bonus" Zach said stuffing his face with my leftover pizza. "So how are you feeling about everything?" Jack asked as he sat down beside me
"It's the anniversary of my girlfriends death, how do you think I'm doing?"I said in a really harsh tone "sorry" I muttered, staring at the drink in front of me. "It's okay bro, we get it" Zach said, patting me on the back
"No you don't!!! No one gets it!! I lost the love of my life. She was everything to me and I lost her!!! She was the reason I got up every morning!!!!" I screamed at them
"Dude, calm down, that's not what we meant" Jack said looking at me "I know,I'm sorry. I just....I just miss her"I said looking at my feet
"Dude listen to me, She loved you more than anything. All she ever wanted in life was for you to be happy. So do you really think that she would've wanted you to sit here and mourn her for the rest of you're life?" Jack told/asked me
"I know she meant a lot to you. She meant a lot to all of us but I think it's time to move on in honor of her because she always made sure we were all happy so lets make her happy and live the happy life we used to live when she was with us" Zach added onto Jacks statement
I thought about it for a minute and realized, they were right she did always want us to be happy. So I guess it is time for me to me to back out there
"Ok, you're right, it's time to move on"
She will always be my love
But I have to move on
