Kaycee came back from the bathroom, having dabbed at her eyes for a few minutes, as Will and Janelle's speeches at the reception had brought her to tears. Tahani grinned, nudging her best friend. "Since when do you get all emotional and lovey-dovey?"

"How could you not?" Kaycee playfully argued, deflecting her best friend's question. "I wish someone loved me like that."

"Uh, girl," Tahani rolled her eyes. "Someone does. And his name is Sean Charles Lew."

"Yeah okay," Kaycee giggled. "As if."

"Girl," Tahani deadpanned. "You can't possibly be serious."

"I am," Kaycee moaned. "He's just my friend."

"Friends don't kiss other friends while rehearsing a love story piece that one of the friends choreographed themselves," Tahani sang.

"You know about that?" Kaycee froze. "It was just once I really didn't mean for it to be-"

"SO IT DID HAPPEN?!" Tahani shrieked. "I WAS JUST TESTING YOU! OH MY GOD KAYCEE RICE WHAT ELSE ARE YOU KEEPING FROM ME?"

"NOTHING!" Kaycee screamed, backing up into a run. "NOTHING!"

She backed up into warm arms that wrapped around her waist. Normally, she'd freak, but the scent of his cologne made her legs turn into noodles. She couldn't run if she tried.

"Watch where you're going there, stud," his voice tickled her ears. She arched her back to look up at him. "Hiiiiiiii," she said goofily.

Tahani smirked in front of her. "Just friends," was all she said while rolling her eyes, before she ducked back into the party scene.

"Phew," Kaycee said nervously once her friend was gone. "That was awkward."

"She knows?" Sean asked.

Kaycee winced, gritting through her teeth. "She got me."

"She won't say anything though, will she?" he asked, although inside he was regretting agreeing to the secrecy thing in the first place. His hands rested on her waist and she sighed deeply, leaning further back into him. "Not that saying anything is a bad thing?" he tried.

She pushed his hands off and broke free of his hold, giving him a look. "Come on, Sean," she rolled her eyes. "You know what we agreed to."

"Give me fifteen minutes," he said, taking her hands and motioning to the garden outside the building. "At least let me try and convince you."

She hesitated. "Cmon, Kayc," he grinned. "I've got you. You're safe with me."

"Fine," she feigned a begrudging look as she let him pull her down the steps. "Fifteen minutes."

"We're gonna be dating by the end," Sean warned her. "There's your disclaimer, so you can't say I didn't warn you."

"So sure of yourself, Lew," she observed. "What makes you think I'm ready to stop what we're doing now?"

"Nothing," he admitted, "Except for the fact I've never been a lucky guy before, so I'm hoping all the times I lost raffles as a kid went towards now. Like credit."

"That's a lot of raffles," she noted.

He gave her a look. "Gambling problem?" she grinned, unable to maintain a straight face.

"Something like that."

She had one too, he thought, since she'd just agreed to bet their status.
