Chapter 6

Third Person's POV

With the playboy Kazuki growing more interested in Rena as days go by, Hanamiya starts to grow suspicious over him being super close to her all of a sudden. Of course, it's part of his innocent-underclassman play. Rena doesn't even suspect a thing, and that makes it easier for his part. But things don't go according to plan as usual for Kazuki, for Rena isn't the typical woman in shoujo manga and anime. Heck, she's stronger than a gang leader (Arata) and managed to change a whole team's ways!

For Kazuki, who's used to seducing women he likes without a problem, she's a challenge. He challenged himself that she'd go to him after 2 weeks, but she didn't. She's having a hard time, of course.

"Nee~nee~ Hanamura-senpai, I heard that there's a popular ice cream shop in front of the station. Why don't we go there later?" he asked.

"Ah, sorry, Yoshikawa-kun!" she apologized with a small bow. "I have plans with Makoto today."

"Eh? Is that so? I see. Too bad then," he said.

"Hanamura-senpai! There's a popular waffle shop near XXX place. Why not try it out?" he offered again, the next day.

But to his dismay... "Gomen...I have errands to do for my mom today," she apologized again.

"Sou ka! It can't be helped. Next time then~" he said with a smile.

"Hanamura~senpaiii! There's a famous shop that sells delicious cake in XX place. Are you free today?" he asked.

She nodded, finally. "Yeah. I'm free for today. Sure, I'll go with you," she said, obliviously.

"Great!"

And as they walk out the school, little did they know that Hanamiya is watching them, and he's jealous, of course. Unfortunately for him, he has an errand to run.

|~at the cake shop~|

"You're right, Yoshikawa-kun! They're delicious," she said.

"See? I told you right?!" he said.

"What flavor have you not tried yet?" she asked.

"The coffee one. Why?" he asked.

"Really? Then let me treat you to some," she offered.

"You don't really have to, senpai!" he declined.

"I insist," she says with a smile as she bought a slice of coffee-flavored cake and handed it to him.

"Fine."

"Well, aren't you not grateful?"

"I said thank you!"

"You certainly did not!" she said with a smirk. "I WILL TELL YOUR FATHER! Yeyyyy!"

"Wait," he called and stopped her from nearly-running away by pulling him to her. There was an awkward silence and blushing between them when he accidentally pulled her too close. ((not to close for their lips to touch, if that's what you're imagining, btw :3)) "S-sorry," he muttered.

"Y-yeah."

He was truly flustered that time though.

"T-then, I'll walk you home," he said. She nodded afterwards.

"Let's go then."

After a few days, Kazuki finally thought, "This is the day!" He's like a guy playing a game that conquers people, and Rena's the heroine. For now, his plan is to confess as the adorable kouhai..

"Hanamura-senpai," he called when no one was in the gym, except for the two of them.

"Yes, Yoshikawa-kun?" she asked.

"Um..how to say this..I've been wanting to tell you this for a while, senpai.."

"What is it?" she asked.

"I..I like you!" he said as she accidentally dropped the ball.

"Huh? B-but..I only think of you as a kouhai!"

"That's why....DON'T! Treat me as an equal," he said as he hugged her tight and pulled her to a kiss. At the same time, Hanamiya opened the door and saw them. When Kazuki saw him, he smirked.
