Chapter 5

Third Person's POV

>at the Hanamiyas' house, dinner time<

"Makoto~ nee, nee! When will you have a girlfriend?" his mother asked.

"Mariko, stop it. Girls are probably scared of him to even date him. Seriously, I don't know how he even grew up to be that way! I didn't use to be like that when I was younger," his father said.

"Oh, Naoki...You were just LIKE him when you were young. So, Makoto, when??"

'Aren't they insulting me too much?' he thought. "I already have one," he said.

"DON'T TELL ME YOU FORCED HER TO DATE YOU? That's low, son! You can't do that."

Hanamiya popped a vein. 'They ARE insulting me too much," he thought.

"Who's the unlucky girl, son?" his mother asked.

'Sometimes, I wonder if I'm really their son,' his train of thought continued. "You already know her."

His mother began to think. "Hmm...Was she from your middle school?" she asked as he nodded.

"THEN HANAMURA-SAN, IT IS!" his father included.

"Well, yeah, since Rena-chan is the only classmate of yours that we know."

He nodded again. "Yeah, she IS my girlfriend."

"If it's Hanamura-san, then I can be assured."

"I feel that Rena-chan is being wasted on Makoto..."

"I know, right?"

'Really?' he thought.

>Meanwhile, at the Hanamuras'<

"Rena, just when are you going to have a boyfriend?" her mother asked.

"She's too young to have one! Anyway, I'm against it," his father said.

"Nee-san already has a boyfriend!" Arata announced excitedly.

"And so does Arata," she continued.

"It's still unrequited," he said and pouted.

Rena smirked. "Is that so??"

"By the way, I've met the son of a good friend of mine.. He seems like a nice boy. I heard that he attends your school, Rena. I also heard that he likes playing basketball. He might join some time soon. Why don't the two of you get to know each other better? Oh, I'm not saying that you should break up with your current boyfriend and hook up with him, just be friends!" he said and laughed.

O.o He's totally implying that!! "What's his name?" I asked anyway.

"Yoshikawa Kazuki," he said with a smile.

"Okay.."

Rena's POV

"Hanamura-senpai!"

I turned around and saw a kouhai. "Hai. What is it?"

"I'd like to join the basketball club please!" he said while handing me the form. I looked through it. So he's the guy..

"Yoshikawa-kun...you must be the son of my dad's friend he mentioned. I see. I'll let the teacher know. Practice starts after dismissal. Don't be late!"

"Haiiii!!!" he said. I almost saw a smirk though. O.o Nevermind...

He seems excited and enthusiastic...just like a little kid.

"Gather up, everyone. We have a new member! Everybody, meet Yoshikawa Kazuki-kun."

"Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!"

"Hai. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu."

"He doesn't seem excited," Makoto said.

"He probably heard of the rumors about you, Hanamura!!" Hara-kun teased.

I popped a vein and lightly hit his head. "Urusai!"
[Urusai means shut up]

"Anooo....actually, I've heard of the rumors..but..I LOVE BASKETBALL SO..."

"Heh?! Good kid!!!" Hara-kun praised with a grin as he smiled innocently.

At least he wants to practice. >.>

Kazuki's POV

Hello, everyone. I'm Yoshikawa Kazuki~It's NOT nice to meet you, people. :P

"Ne~Kazuki," some chick's name whom I've long forgotten called me. "Are you even listening?"

"Ah, gomen, senpai! I was just thinking of some stuff," I lied. She's been annoying me for some time now..

"Heh? I see," she pouted. "You must have it tough...Are the senpai from your basketball club mean to you?" she asked as I shook my head.

"They're really nice, senpai!"

"I'm worried about you, Kazuki! You're too overly-nice," another one said.

"That's right! You can even tolerate this bitch clinging on to you," the senpai said. Meh, I don't really care...

"Tseh! Kazuki is mine."

When did that happen? I don't know what they're talking about, so I left them alone. I'm losing interest in them. Maybe it's because Hanamura-senpai is more interesting. Just wait and see, everyone! I'll steal her away from Hanamiya~senpai!! ^_^ teehee~
