"Actually, I was wondering . . ." Strawberry began, but trailed off. Speaking to Sweet Tofu, even with Vanilla not far behind, was far scarier than Strawberry had expected. After all, despite his friendliness earlier, the way Sweet talked to Salty seemed a bit . . . unsettling in a way.
"What were you wondering?" Sweet Tofu asked, crouched down to Strawberry's short height. Strawberry flinched internally, before continuing.
"Um, what's your favorite color?"
"Hmm, I personally prefer white. It's the color of sugar and salt~!" He turned in his head sideways. "Why do you ask?"
It's easier to trust someone you know things about. Strawberry didn't answer aloud though, instead he responded differently.
"Well, that's supposed to be a secret and stuff . . ."
"A surprise? Pleasant! Is there anything you need?"
"Not that I can think of. Bye!" As soon as Strawberry finished he ran out of the room and to the main room, past Vanilla, who was freaking out almost as much as Strawberry.
"Strawberry! Did he hurt you? Touch you? Glance in your direction?!" Vanilla overreacted, calming Strawberry. "Tell me!"
"No, no, and it would be rude if he didn't," Strawberry answered to Vanilla's relief. "Why?"
~
"Eh, are you here to bother me again?" Salty Tofu asked with a groan as he saw Mooncake enter the room. "I just want some time to myself."
"Eh, whatever. Social interaction is good for you!" Mooncake responded with a smile and a jump. Salty looked at her sideways.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Don't be mean~!" Mooncake pouted.
"I'll do as I please thanks. Anyways, what are you doing here?"
"What's your favorite color?"
"Why do you care?"
"Just answer."
"Black. You can't see if everything is black."
"What's your favorite time of day?"
"None, night is better because that's when people leave me alone."
"Favorite food?"
"Secret."
"Favorite person?"
"Not you and not my brother."
"Age? Ow!" Mooncake cried as Salty Tofu hit her in the head. "I was just kidding!"
"Yeah? Well let's see if you can kid around when you change from whatever food you are-"
"Mooncake."
"- to Pretzel!" Salty Tofu grabbed at Mooncake, who barreled out the room, startling Sweet, who had been peeking out the doorway. Salty chased after her, and Sweet Tofu sighed.
"Oh well~ Here we go again."
