"Ow . . . !" Mooncake exclaimed as Salty Tofu knocked her into the ground. She rubbed her head with one eye shut, the other glancing at Salty, who was scowling at the moment. "That hurts!"
"You deserve it for asking a person's - well, Food Soul's - age!" Salty responded with an upset tone. "I thought kids these days knew that was rude . . . !"
"I was born a long time ago, so I'm not of this generation - don't hit me!" Mooncake rolled to the side to avoid Salty's attack, but it proved worthless as Sweet Tofu had entered the room at the moment and stopped Salty Tofu instead.
"Now brother~ Don't be violent with the guests~ Remember~?" Sweet said in a soft voice. Salty looked away frustratingly.
"Yeah, whatever."
"Now go play with your toys, okay?" Mooncake laughed upon hearing this. Salty glared at her.
"You- You play- You play with toys!" Mooncake gasped out between laughter, only unharmed because Salty was stopped by his twin. When Mooncake relaxed, she spoke again. "I get the Double Scoop twins would make sense, Tangyuan and Cold Rice Shrimp too - but you? You look like a mid-teenager! If not adult!" She burst out laughing again.
Salt looked at Sweet hopefully. "Please, let me kill her. Just her."
Sweet paused teasingly. "Hmm~ No. And that's final. Now go, okay~?"
Salty grumbled as he shuffled out the room. Sweet walked over to where Mooncake had finally calmed down, although she was wiping her eyes from the tears that came out of laughing so much. Sweet crouched down to match her sitting height.
"So, what's with you and my brother?" Sweet Tofu questioned, staring Mooncake in the eyes. She paused, staring right back at into his.
"What do you mean?"
"Every time you interact with him something not-so-good happens. Yet you return - why?"
"It's only been twice, you know!" Mooncake exclaimed.
"Okay then~" Sweet said as he smiled in a chillingly sweet way and he raised his fingers, spraying dust on Mooncake's face in a snap of his fingers.
Mooncake sneezed. "What's t h a t . . . ? "
With a thud, Mooncake fell into Sweet Tofu's arms. The eldest twin picked her up and placed her in her room, almost silent in the mid-afternoon day.
