Chapter 12: Back to business and hunting the traitor

After yesterday's events Alex took Rose back to his place because she said she didn't want him to leave her side, currently Rose is taking a shower trying to rid herself of Josh's scent; in a literal and metaphorical sense because Alex can still smell him on her and it only angers him more. Rose gets out of the shower and limps back to Alex's room, she sees him sitting on the bed and goes to lay next to him with her back turned in just a towel; not even bothering to put on any clothes. "Does it still hurt?" He asked with sadness and concern in his voice, she nods slowly not trusting her own voice; he then holds her hand gently and takes her pain. After he took her pain he continued holding her hand, he sighed disappointed in himself for not making it in time. A few minutes later Eric walks in and up the stairs, he sees Alex and Rose in his bed cuddling and decides not to disturb them but is still aware that Alex could possibly still smell him. Confirming his theory Alex lifts his head up and glances at Eric "Something wrong?" Eric rubs the back of his neck and nods "We need to talk, I'll wait downstairs." After Eric goes back downstairs Alex sits up and gets out of the bed, Rose turns over and looks at Alex "Alex is something wrong?" He looks at her with a reassuring smile "I'm sure it's nothing, I'll be back in a second. I promise." He kisses her hand and goes downstairs, he walked into the living room and he and Eric sit across from each other on the couch. "So what's up?" Alex asks with a shrug, Eric sighs in hesitation before answering and fiddling with his fingers "Josh never made it to the prison, his transport was attacked early this morning." Alex stood up fast becoming angered by that news "What!?" he asked as his eyes started to glow, Eric stands and puts his hand on Alex's shoulder hoping to calm him a bit before continuing "He escaped after killing the driver and the deputy watching him. They don't know who or what had attacked it yet, but my dad said it had to be something really strong and probably with wings." Alex looks at Eric in confusion and in slightly more anger "Wings?" Eric nods "Yeah the cameras on the transport caught something coming at it from the sky before it was hit, I think we both know what or who has wings and can probably flip a police truck." Alex nods knowing he was talking about Damien, he also knew that they could've been working together the entire time planning Alex's demise and the demise of the entire pack along with the rest of beacon hills. Alex growls in anger and punches the nearest wall "How the hell could this happen, how the fuck have we been so careless?" Alex sighed calming down "What are the cops doing about it now? Are they at least hunting that son of a bitch down?" Eric nods knowing his father has sent every available officer looking for Josh and the winged assailant who freed him "He won't get away with this, we won't let him. I promise." Alex nods sitting at the living room table calming down, he sighs looking up at Eric "Contact the others, tell them to get here as soon as they can. It's time to get back to work." Eric gets his phone out and starts texting the others telling them to come to Alex's house as soon as they can. A few minutes later they come and sit at the living room table, Alex sitting at the end with Rose right next to him and her hand clenching his tightly out of fear. "As you all may know, it was Josh who betrayed me and got me sent to Eichen. He escaped his transport with help from Damien and is now in hiding, so I want to find him before the sheriff and his deputies do. And when we find him, he won't be going to Eichen in cuffs. HE'LL BE GOING IN AS MANY PIECES AS POSSIBLE!" Alex said growling and the lights flickering, he takes a deep breath calming down before he continues "Any questions?" Alex asked looking at his pack "Yeah I got a question, how the fuck did you get out of prison anyway?" Leon asked gaining Alex's attention and raising the eyebrows of everyone in the room, including Eric and Rose "That actually is a hell of a good question, Alex how 'did' you escape Eichen?" Eric asked genuinely, Alex sighed remembering he never did explain his early release "Ok so basically some shit went down in the prison and it caused for my early release along with another inmate, and let's just say after the other bullshit that happened there years ago with Eric's parents, mine and who knows however many others, they really don't want another lawsuit on their hands." They all nod in agreement "Anyway back to business. Josh can not hide forever, so I want every possible location he could be hiding in cleaned out and any hint of him at all being there recently at any time reported directly to me, also if any of you see Damien or Betty don't engage unless necessary. I do mean it when I say I want to send Josh piece by piece to Eichen, his treachery will not stand and it will also be a warning. To anyone who dares to harm any of my pack members, dares to harm beacon hills or anyone else that I care about will be dealt with with extreme prejudice." Everyone nods in agreement, Alex stands when Rose leaves from his lap "Now let's go hunt us a traitor, chose to partner up or go on your own to cover more ground it doesn't make a difference to me as long as we find him and I can punish him." They all nod again and get up to leave "And one last thing." Alex said as they headed to the door, they look at him waiting to hear him "I just want all of you to be careful. Okay?" He says with true worry for his pack, they all nod and leave to start the search; all except Alex and Eric. He looks at Alex with a bit of worry "Al, I know you want josh's head on a pike right now ,and believe me I do too, but we can't keep killing our enemies or just killing in general. We have to draw the line or we are no better then the people who hunt and despise people with supernatural powers, I mean come on man you killing those assholes in the woods may have been justified but it was you killing them that sent you to Eichen in the first place and it wasn't even just like a quick kill you fucking slaughtered them all man. We can't keep operating like this, we have to be better." Eric walked to the door and looked back at Alex "I don't want to see my best friend turn into the monster these people think you are, and neither does Rose." Eric walks out leaving Alex to digest and think about what he said, but he already knew Eric was right. People thought of Alex as a murderer, a monster, a demon, but Alex also knew that this wasn't how his dad would've handed it; how he would handle protecting beacon hills. Alex finally walks out of his house and gets on his motorcycle, he rides into town and starts his search; and he will leave no stone unturned. Alex arrives at one of the local arcades and sees one of Josh's friends playing pinball, as he gets annoyed with losing the game he gives up and walks out back unaware that Alex was following him. As the unsuspecting jock pulled out his phone and started to text someone he feels a tap on his shoulder, he sighs and turns around but jumps back in fear and shock seeing Alex there smiling "McCall? W-What are you doing here aren't you supposed to be in jail?" Alex kept his smile as he grabbed the jock and slammed him into the nearest wall making him groan in pain "David I'm going to ask you a very simple question and I want a very simple answer, okay?" Alex said holding David by his throat, he nods complying making Alex loosen his grip a bit "Good. So where's Josh?" David gulped nervously as his heartbeat started to rise indicating he was about to lie, before he could utter a single letter Alex punches him in his gut making him hunch over in pain. He picks him up by the back of his neck and throws to the other wall, as David laid there groaning in pain Alex kicked him in his head knocking him out; he picked up David's phone and looked through the messages and sadly not finding any between him and Josh before crushing it. The next of Josh's friends that were visited by Alex was Cory, the result was the same for him as it was for everyone of Josh's former friends that were interrogated by Alex and his pack, lies, violence, unconsciousness and a broken phone ,and possibly a few bones, with every failed search for a lead on Josh. Leon and Talia have searched all possible places for him to hide in but have found nothing, same goes for Kia and Maya when they searched the local bars Josh sneaks in when his father had no idea of his late night outings. For hours they searched until the dead of night only to find nothing and be more angered. Lastly Rose, Eric and Jane were the only trio who were checking over some of the blind spots the other deputies didn't notice, they reach the last of Josh's secret hideouts and start to look inside. Eric held his bat tightly as he lead the two women inside, Jane had her claws ready as did Rose with the gun she stole from her father's safe; Jane could already feel and smell Rose's fear of seeing Josh so soon after what he did to her. "Okay just because he can't hear or smell your fear doesn't mean I want to, so what the hell is wrong with you?" Jane whispered harshly to Rose, she sighs trying to lower her heartbeat; Jane scoffs at her attempt to hide her fear and anxiety "I can still smell it you know, just tell me what's wrong. I can probably help." Rose shakes her head not wanting to talk about it "Lets just worry about finding Josh, he's the only thing we should be worried about right now." Jane rolls her eyes and grabs Rose's arm stopping them both and letting Eric go ahead of them, Rose's heartbeat rising as Jane's hard grip reminded her of Josh's "L-Let me go." She said with a shaky breath "Tell me what the hell is your problem? Your heart is beating so damn fast I'm gonna be surprised if Josh can't hear it now if that asshole is still even hear, so what is your problem?" Jane's grip tightened on Rose's arm causing her to panic and flip Jane over slamming her onto the ground, her eyes glowing bright pink as she looked down at Jane, the sound loud enough to be heard down the hall. Jane looks up at Rose in shock, not just at her move but at the ,new to her, glowing eyes. "What the hell?" Jane says with shock in her voice, it takes Rose a second to realize that her eyes were glowing and she gets off of Jane. Jane gets up and looks at Rose as she tries to calm herself down "Rose what the hell are you?" Jane asked, Rose sighed "I don't know. The only reason I haven't told anyone else is because I have to find that out first, and once that happens I will tell everyone. Okay?" Jane nods in agreement "Alright, since you won't tell yet I won't either. But next time you touch me like that? I'll break your fingers." Rose looked at Jane as if she was crazy and crossed her arms "Oh is that so?" Jane nodded and crossed her arms "Yeah. It is." Rose and Jane stared each other for a minute before they both burst out laughing, Eric walks toward Rose and Jane and looked at them "Did you two forget we have a traitor to look for? Enough laughing and giggling let's go." They sigh knowing he was right and start walking back down the hall "Just out of curiosity, what are you gonna do if we find Josh here? I mean you aren't exactly sporting claws and fangs like us, and you don't even have a gun just that bat your dad gave you." Jane said crossing her arms "You know she's right Eric, if Josh comes at you he won't have to do much to stop you. At least we can put up a better fight, sorry but it's the truth man." Rose said agreeing with Jane, Eric sighed and turned around walking backwards now "Ok listen. Just because I don't have super strength or super speed or even super senses doesn't mean I still can't kick some ass, I may only have a bat but I promise you it'll come in real handy when I find that asshole Josh and beat the shit outta him." Eric bumps into something hard causing the girls to stop in front of him, their eyes widen in shock ;a low growl could be heard behind Eric. He turns around slowly and is face to face with a fully shifted Josh and before he could do anything Josh knocks Eric to the nearest wall and runs toward Jane and Rose, Jane shifts and grabs Josh slamming him into a wall and going through it. Jane throws Josh onto the ground and punches him in the face repeatedly before he flips them over and starts punching her repeatedly, the more Josh and Jane fight and flip positions the harder it was for Rose to get a clear shot at Josh even with her already rising fear from seeing him after what he did to her. Breath a voice whispered in her mind, Rose looked around in confusion and fear "What the hell? Who's there?" She asked the voice Breath and focus the voice said again. Rose did as the voice said, she closed her eyes and took a slow deep breath then when she opened them again they were glowing the bright pink they were the day Alex first saw them. Josh flips Jane over one more time and before he can slash her throat Rose pulls the trigger and shoots Josh in the shoulder with a wolfsbane bullet, he roars in pain and looks back at Rose with anger. He gets up off of Jane and runs at her only to be hit in the face with the bat Eric had causing him to stumble back then Eric punches him in the face knocking him down, Josh looks up at Eric and Rose in anger as he feels the wolfsbane burning in his shoulder. He gets up and runs away from them not taking any chances, Eric takes his phone out and calls his father "Dad we found Josh, he was in the building on 35th and Norman but he's running now you have to send the closest unit now! He's also wounded, so your guys should be able to catch him." He hangs up the phone and goes to help up Jane, she smiled at him "I guess that bat did come on handy huh." They laughed softly and Rose smiled at them "Not that this isn't cute and all, but we should probably go." They nod in agreement and leave the building. After getting Rose home Eric and Jane go back to the Stilinski residence, neither of the parents come home with them. Eric was in the kitchen grabbing ice for his hand after punching Josh in the jaw while Jane was using his bathroom to clean the blood off of of her from when she and Josh fought, Eric walks upstairs with two waters and sits them on his desk by his window "Hey um here's some water if your thirsty, my dad locked his booze up and I don't know where it is now." She smiled from within the bathroom as she wiped the last bit of blood from her face and hands "That's ok, I don't like alcohol anyway. Thanks again for letting me use your shower by the way." He nodded sitting on his bed "No problem, happy to help." he took his phone out and started going through random apps when he heard the water stop running "Hey Eric?" Jane said stepping out of the bathroom "Yeah ja-oh my Jesus." He looked up hearing her voice calling him and his eyes nearly pop out of his head at what he sees.

Jane walking out of his bathroom in nothing but a bra, short jean shorts and fur boots "You think I can borrow one of your shirts to sleep on tonight? My other ones are kind of dirty and I haven't washed a load yet." Eric shakes his head snapping out of his daze "Uh yeah. Yeah sure go right on ahead." Jane smiles going to Eric's dresser and searches for one of his t-shirts, Eric looked away trying not to stare and be a perve. After she finds and puts the shirt on she grabs the water from Eric's desk and drinks it, she heads to the door and glances at Eric "You know instead of staring you could always give a little compliment, not that I mind you taking a little peek anyway." She winks leaving and going to the guest room, Eric hangs his head and blushes in embarrassment. He changes into his sleepwear and gets ready for bed, thoughts of Jane in just her bra and some in no clothes at all plaguing his dreams as he approached a peaceful sleep. In a secluded part of the woods Josh was sitting under a tree burning the wolfsbane that Rose shot him with out of his system, he puts the lighter back in his pocket after he finished and breathed a sigh of annoyance "You seriously got your ass kicked by a werewolf chick and two humans, man that's gotta suck." A voice said from beside him, Josh glared up at him "Well I don't see you taking a wolfsbane bullet Damien, why the hell didn't you help me?" Damien smirked and stood in front of Josh helping him up "Because it was your problem to deal with kid, not mine. You should've been more careful like we told you to punk, hell you're a wanted man now." Josh huffed in annoyance as he put his jacket back on "Were you able to get it?" Damien asked eyeing Josh, he sighed and pulled the jar of Alex's blood out and holds it out for Damien to take.

"Yeah I got it, why did you need McCall's blood anyway?" He asked as Damien took the small jar, he smirked at it looking at Josh "Don't worry kid, you'll know when it's time for you to know. For now I would suggest you start running, before someone finds you out here." Josh takes his advice and starts running through the forest as the cops started closing in, Damien was able to shift and fly away just in time before they saw him. Landing on the roof of their hideaway Damien shifts back and walks in to see his wife cooking "Did he do his part?" She asked without looking at him, he sets the jar on the tableand walks up behind betty and wrapping his arms around her waist "He did, and now we are one step closer to the boss letting us go. We'll be able to have freedom again babe, can you imagine nothaving to answer to that asshole anymore?" She smiled at the thought "Oh yes I can baby, then we can get our little girl back and punish that bitch fordeserting us." Damien sighs happily thinking about it "I can't wait to give that brat exactly what she deserves, she'll wish she was dead by the time we get done with her." She smiles and kisses his cheek "Go grab a seat, the food will be done shortly." That night Damien and betty helped themselves to the meal as they continued to think of the many terrible and excruciatingly painful ways they will hurt Kya as soon as they can get her back in their possession, and it was only sweet dreams for them afterwards.
