"And by going down what do you mean, like someone has to die?" I ask. I surely don't think I can take any of the dying shit. I hope it's otherwise.
"No death but you will loose the person to your father's side!" Ted's voice spells seriousness. His eyes keep straying from Allie to Father and back to Oris.
"No. We swore to never..." This won't be possible. But what is more impossible is letting Allie cross over, whatever that means.
"I know that Coy." He cuts me mid-sentence. "The vow, I mean." He adds.

"And I said you could take me!" Oris is stubborn. He is hell-bent to save Allie but fact is, I cannot let him make that decision right now. He is not in his right frame of mind. The poison is strong! These were Rene's words a few minutes ago.
"It's a no, big brother. I would better be the one. Futhermore, I am always doing nothing to help fight him. He's far beyond me." I shout my mind out.

"You ain't gonna shout now Coy. Allie is my sister remember?" Oris' eyes open slightly wide than normal. He actually looks normal right normal.
"She's my sister too and we swore to stick by each other." I counter,my head cocked on the right side.
"Fuck that Coy, she's your half sister. I heard Father say that- you are not beyond redemption like us, you are actually the real..." He trails off.
"Say it Oris. I am the real bastard. Say it, now and I- will tell you- my mind." My voice is a bit shaky, my fingers too.

Oris paces up and down, he hits his head twice and curses out at no one in particular, "Shit." Elex closes his eyes briefly and when he opens them, he calls Oris out but he's gets a glare for a response. He walks to him, attempts to take his hand but he backsteps.

"It's me Elex!" He tells him as if he can't notice who he is. Well, Elex has always been the one who calms Oris down in times like this. Today seems that is not happening.

"Don't Elex. The last time I checked you were nothing less than him." Oris says pointing at father who is still lying wreathing in pain. Whatever Ted has done to him, only God knows. "What are you? A monster?" He asks. I have been waiting to ask this question but not in this way. I would love to know what Elex has become too.

"Don't subject the little boy to these fucking questions. He doesn't know!" It's Ted who comes to his rescue.  Everybody coils at his voice and we focus our attention back to Allie. Oh, I love Allie so much but right now, my heart and soul, ain't really focussed on her. I am wishing Oris could finish what he had started. I mean, I want to hear what he thinks I am. I know it's a bastard!

"Who?"
"Ted!" Rene warns. "I  thought I said there must be another way to do it." She glares at him.
"Okay, bring your suggestion ma'am!"
"I don't know but maybe you could help out. I know you would." That's the kind of confidence I would like someone to have on me. I mean, if I were Ted my head would be swelling already.

Ted bends low on Allie and examines her tummy. I think, when he looks up and my gaze locks with his, I see his eyes narrowed in frustration. He places his fingers on the left side of her throat- he's feeling her heartbeat. When he stands up, he 'heys' us and we gather around him.

The situation is not as he had thought. Everything is happening so fast and if care is not taken, Allie would bring us to downfall. Ted scans his eyes through us and when his eyes lands on mine, I exactly feel as if I know what he's asking.

"Do anything- anything possible to help her out!" I tell him. "But don't touch any of my other three siblings- if I can be of any help, use me!" Yes, I am ready to go down for her. She is my best friend, leave alone my sister. If I have to go down for her to survive this shit, then I am ready.

"No. It's right what he said." At the mention of 'he', his eyes stray to father. Oh, he was right. I am a bastard and I can't substitute Allie. Well, nobody will them. When my eyes meet with Oris, I see hate in his eyes and for a moment, I feel like an intruder. Maybe Ted rightfully belongs here, but me, it's clearly I don't.

A groan escapes through Allie's lips. She tries to shift from her original position but instead, the groan turns to a low cry of pain. Fuck, the girl is suffering. I am fast to get down and I'm about to sit her up on my thighs when Ted holds her head down. He looks straight in her face - straight that you would think she's noticing him.

"You will forgive me someday." He tells her. "Let me do it my way!" He nods at us before slitting her wrist with a blade and then... Oh my gosh, be sucks the blood out of her.

"Don't you suck her life out!" I warn. I don't know why I am still standing here watching him suck from her wrist, I should have kicked him off her. Allie stills, she breaths slowly and slowly before she drowns her own pains and darkness. I bet, she feels better and at peace. That is if she feels anything at all.

"How many coins for an explanation?" Oris asks. Wow, he sounds cool.

Ted wipes some blood off the sides of his mouth and... "She will wake up. Carry her home. The next thing I want to do is to compel Cornelius to forget about her, or even into thinking he killed her. You will stay here until she wakes up, and I will leave with Your father. I will see you!"

"Don't say 'our', say their father! Everybody knows that he's not my father!" I correct. I mean this, he's not my father.
"And you made us go through hell...it's because of you that he kept referring to us as bastards! You could as well leave, we do not need your help. Bastard!" Oris' voice is heavy.

This is it! I will always be different. Everybody knows that I am a bastard - I too know this. I have wanted to leave and go far away where I could find peace but God knows, I love Allie and Rene too much to dumb them. Well, I love even Elex. And Oris isn't an exemption but he's pushing me to the wall. This is the time to grab my freedom. Maybe I should actually leave.

"You won't talk about Coy like that!" Rene warns.
He lifts his hands up to show surrender, "They will always fight for you!" Yes, the girls will always fight for me just the way I will always fight for them.

Minutes later, Allie opens her eyes and the first thing I note in them is that they are strangely blue in colour. She stands up and goes straight to Oris' arms. "I love you brother!"

Rene takes the wheel while I sit shotgun. The three sit at the back seats, Allie at the centre. She is lying her head on Oris' chest and Elex has placed her left leg on his thighs and he playing with her toes. By the time we get home, she's totally asleep. Oris carries her to the house.

A battle lost.
As I walk to my room, one thing is so clear in my mind. This is not my home.
