Jonah-adopted

(A/N this is completely inspired by another story I read but I can't remember the name or user of it. This story will start very confusing but I think it will be clear after a time)

[ Jonah Marais adopted a girl named Tara when she was 8 years old. She has a terrible background. A friend of her mother named Michael abused her and raped her a couple of times. Her mother Amanda didn't know it... well Tara thinks she didn't. Amanda gave Tara to an Orphanage when she was young so Tara doesn't really remember her mom but she can't forget what Michael did to her. The boys know everything about what happened and what Tara had to go through. Now Tara is 12 and in a pretty hard phase. ]

Tara pov
I sit in my room and stare at a white wall. My 12th Birthday is in two days and all I wanna do is to celebrate it with my real mom. Even though I don't really know her I miss her a lot.

Don't get me wrong I love the boys with my whole heart especially Jonah. He helped me so much to live with the stuff I've been through and I'm so thankful for that but it's hard growing up without a mom figure in my life.

I didn't realize that tears are running down my face until there was a knock on my door. I quickly wipe the tears away.
Tara: come in
Jonah: Hey I just wanted to ask if-
He sees my tears and cuts himself off.
Jonah: oh Tara what's wrong?
Tara: I-I just m-miss my mom a lot
Jonah: you'll meet her one day I promise.
Tara: I just want to celebrate my birthday with my mum

Jonah sits beside me and hugs me tight. This doesn't happen often these days because we fight a lot.

Jonah pov

As I leave Tara's room I think about what I can do to make her wish come true. I remember that the orphanage told us that they know who her mother is.

I quickly tell the boys about it then run to get my phone. This is gonna be the best birthday present ever.

I call the orphanage.
?: Hello how can I help you?
Jonah: Hello I'm Jonah Marais the father of Tara Turner. We adopted her 4 years ago and I'd like to ask if you have any information about her mother?
?: yes her mother's name is Amanda Turner. Her phone number is ***********
Jonah: Oh that's awesome thank you bye

I'm so happy they had her number. I'm gonna call her right now. I dial her number but stop for a second before I press the call button.

What if Tara meets her and wants to live with her? Or what if her mother doesn't want to see her?

For Tara. I say in my head as I press the call button.

Amanda: Hello?
Jonah: Hello Amanda I'm the father of Tara Turner. I adopted her 4 years ago.
Amanda: Oh how is Tara? I miss her
Jonah: she's fine but she wants to see you on her birthday
Amanda: Oh really? I want to meet her to

We talk a bit and then decide to surprise Tara on her birthday. I'm really happy but at the same time I'm really worried.

If she sees her mum it'll also bring back the memories of Michael. She had a really rough time to get of this. In the beginning she even was too scared to go near us but we always told her we would never, never do that.

She slowly started to hug us and to be comfortable around us. But then came a time were she didn't want to go anywhere without us. She constantly hugged us and didn't want to go to bed without us.

Right now she's a bit confusing. A moment she screams at us and we fight and the next she doesn't want to let go my hand.

Anyways

Tara walks downstairs and we have another argument about how she wants her birthday. It really makes me sad that we fight so much. We keep on fighting hard about random things.
