"Baile*," Spade mumbled before her eyes fluttered open. She studied her surroundings, finding herself in a clean white room. She was in the medical level at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters; she had been here once before because of the mercury poisoning from a cinnabar. She groaned as she tried to sit up but not from pain, which surprised her, her whole body felt sore and stiff; then everything came crashing back like the first wave of a tsunami. The crystal. The message. The explosion. The vision. The seven women. The purple shards and amber energy. She looked at her hands, half expecting to see some sort of deformity or crystallization or energy burns; "Did that really happen?" she asked herself, her voice sounding clear and sophisticated, more than it ever did before.
"It did really happen," said a voice walking through the door. It was Tony Stark, her brother.
She smiled and giggled a little, "Sorry I couldn't answer your calls."
Tony shut the door and sat down at the edge of her bed, all with a serious face, "Damn my calls, I'm just happy the you're alive right now!". Spade said nothing until he regained his composure.
"Are Coulson and Evelyn still alive?"she said quietly but hopefully. Tony nodded. "But I know that Tyler isn't..." Spade sighed.
"But I don't care about the dick that cheated you. I only care about my sister. I got a call saying that you had an accident but I was so worried because I can't lose you right now. You're the DJ at my upcoming party, I need you to test something for me and help me modify one of my suits and not to mention that I-" his rambling was interrupted when his sister moved to wrap her arms around him. Tony didn't quite like or expect genuine affection but accepted it anyway, but only because he had a burden. A secret about his sister that he had to reveal. "I missed you, but I have something to tell you," he mumbled against her shoulder.
"Okay? Let me just stretch my legs...," she said until she threw off the blanket and actually looked at her legs. They were longer, smoother, and slimmer. Her arms too. Starting to panic a little bit, she found a hand mirror on the bedside table and looked at herself; her cheekbones were sharper and her face in general was symmetrical and defined without any blemishes. But what made her drop the mirror was her eyes, before they were chocolate colored but now her left eye was a hypnotising amber and her right was a shimmering purple. And her ears were long and pointed.
Spade didn't move, she only breathed heavily and stared at her legs until Tony lifted her chin and gently stroked her hair; she didn't notice that it was longer and had a blue, green, and purple tint to it.
"Come on, let's get some fresh air," Tony said calmly. She nodded, despite the crazed look in her heterochromic eyes.
A little bit later they were sitting on the grass in Central Park facing each other, with Tony in his casual outfit and Spade in black shorts over a white undershirt with a tie. They hadn't said anything for a few minutes; Spade only somberly stared at her hands, as if they were different, that were in her lap and Tony tried to collect his thoughts.
"This may be a little hard to explain, even I barely understood when Dad told me before he died. So I'm going to tell you ahead of time that i love you very much and it's going to be very hard to believe a-"
"Get to the point," Spade interrupted quietly. Her voice sounded scared and sad, hence why she didn't look up at him. Stark took a deep breath...
"I think it will be best if I start from the beginning," he started. Spade didn't move or say anything more so he continued, "I was about three or four when Mom, Dad, and I took a trip to an island he bought between Scotland and Ireland. He said he wasn't going to build anything or invest in it, he said he was going to protect it and I asked why. Later that night Dad took Mom and I to a lake in the middle of the island; it was nearly a triangle in shape and had a bright luminescence to it, it was one of the most beautiful things that I had ever seen. Dad bought the island so he could protect and preserve the lake, so we are there for a bit, just taking in the crisp air and view, but then something weird happened." Tony told the story with a smile, nostalgia filling his senses. Spade looked up at him for the first time when he paused, her brother didn't want to stare at her new eyes so a glimpse was all he could get.
"Weird how?" she asked quietly. Her voice had a somber, angry, and curious tone to it that Tony never heard before; she was usually sassy, sarcastic, and energetic. He waited for a couple to pass before he continued.
"It's mostly a blur for me, but I could remember quite clearly a tall woman with long hair and wings in a white dress with a crown, holding something, and approaching mom and dad. Then I remember Dad holding the bundle and the woman disappearing into the lake; I must have fallen asleep because the next day, mom introduced me to my new baby sister, Amelia River Stark," he looked at her and realized they were both crying. Spade was at a loss for words.
"I-I'm... adopted?" she stuttered. "You have been hiding this from me the whole time? For my entire life? Tony, as kids we made a pact that if we knew something about each other we wouldn't hide it! You broke that promise, how can trust you with anything now? Were you ever going to tell me?" Spade said while trying to hold back more tears.
"We were hoping we wouldn't have to," Tony's voice cracked for he was in pain if seeing his sister in pain.
"Everyone knew but me..." Spade said in disbelief. Tony nodded and was going to explain himself but was startled by an angrier voice. "And not only that, oh no! I'm apparently the daughter of a faerie queen and I'm destined to rule a land of magical beings IS THAT RIGHT TONY!!??" she shouted at him standing up after putting the details together. He looked up at her, still crying.
"I didn't even say anything," he said, still a little bit quiet.
She growled as she clutched at her head, "AAGH this wasn't supposed to happen to me! I was going to have a normal life as a simple geologist but then I end up at S.H.E.I.L.D. and got caught into that Asgardian hammer time shit and now this? Ah dinnae ken wot ta day!**" she shouted and found her arms out, causing purple crystals to shoot from her hands and spread around her. Tony scurried out of the way as other people crowded around to see what was going on; Spade looked at her own hands in fear. Tony tried to deescalate the situation."Ameli-"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT! DON'T CALL ME A NAME THAT ISN'T EVEN MINE!!!" she screamed at him before taking off running. But what surprised him more was that she had ran the length of Central Park in ten seconds... And that he was still crying.

If any of you are wondering why I chose to add Dog Days Are Over, if you listen to it it has a very emotional sound to it which I think could set the tone to this chapter. I also think it sounds good as an outro because she is running to leave it all behind. 😂I hoped that made sense...
