Chapter 8

It's been 2 weeks since the accident and Macks funeral was last weekend her family couldn't be bothered to turn up so it was just me and some of our old friends My dad said he would come with me but I told him to stay at the hotel.

There was one good thing about that trip though did I mention I have an older half brother well I do his names Braydon my dad doesn't know but to be honest it's none of his business he's not Braydon's dad anyway well I met up with him he said he's doing good for himself and keeping out of trouble he also has his own place he even said that when things are properly sorted out I can go stay with him even possibly live with him but I'm not too sure about that at the moment.

My dad's currently packing for another investigation.

"Hey dad"

"Hey Ree"

"Why can't I go on this lockdown with you??"

"We discussed this Ree your staying here with cece"

(Cece is my dad's new assistant)

"But I want to know why I can't go with you"

"Because I don't want you to come on this one"

"So you don't love me anymore"

"Ree I did-"

"I know dad I'm just messing with you anyway I'm going out have a safe trip"

"Aren't you going to wait till I go to give me a goodbye hug and kiss"

"I would dad honest but you have rabies so I cant"

"I do not have rabies"

I'm meeting Braydon today I would tell my dad now but he's getting prepared for his lockdown and I don't want to ruin it if I tell him he won't go because he will want to stay and meet Braydon to make sure he's who he says he is but that doesn't matter for now I know Braydon is my brother and Braydon knows I'm his sister.

I met up Braydon and we were having a really good time until he bought up me going to live with him again.

"So Ree have you put anymore thought into living with me?"

"Bray I don't know I haven't thought it all through properly yet and I have to speak to my dad first I mean he doesn't even know about you yet"

"Ree it's nothing to do with him he's not my dad he doesn't have to know"

"But I'm his daughter"

"So your putting some guy you just met who claims to be your father before your own brother"

"No Bray it's not like tha-"

"Save it Ree I get it"

WOW just wow Braydon said he had to go and walked off just like that so I guess I'm walking back now and it hasn't even been 2 hours.

I got back to the house about 10 minutes later and my dad was still there.

"Hey Dad"

"Hey baby girl"

"Dad can I talk to you for a moment please?"

I heard a car come up outside the house and I guess it was Billy and Aaron.

"Not now Ree I gotta go see you in a week"

"But dad"

"NOT NOW REE"

I guess he saw the sad expression in my face.

"Look sweetie tell me about it later ok"

"Fine dad"

"Love you"
