Hidden Love (DMC 5 Nero x OC) [completed]

"That idiot", Nico cures as she rummages around her workshop.
"What's the matter", Rose asks as Lady sits herself behind the wheel.
"That dumb Devil Hunter forgot to take Devil Breakers with him. Lady, drive to where Nero's parting is."
"Sure do!"
Lady puts her foot on the gas pedal and the van starts to roll in an uncontrollable speed.
"There! I see him", She shouts after a few minutes and starts honking to catch the said male's attention.

"Wait, Lady! There's-"
Just at that moment the van starts to lift up the ground and falls onto the level below them. As the van lands Rose gathers her senses and ends her sentence. "- a cliff."

Nico opens the door to a surprised Nero. "Hey, honey. Need assistance?"
"What the hell's your problem? You trying to kill me", Nero scolds the young mechanic.
"If you wanna bitch, blame it on Lady. She's behind the wheel."
At that moment Lady leans out of the window and waves.
"Okay, enough with the suspense. What do you need?"
Just as Nico guessed Nero needs more Devil Breakers.

He enters the van and greets Rose with a kiss. "Guess that wasn't our last goodbye after all", He says.
"Get your stuff and save the world", Rose laughs.

After Nero has stocked up on his weapons and wished Rose farewell once again with an intimate moment he rushes off.
"So, what do we do now", Trish asks.
"We're going to get out of this thing. This place is going to blow when that demon's got his ass kicked", Nico says as she sits back down behind the wheel.

The other three ladies sit down in the back van as Nico starts to drive.
"So you and Nero, huh", Lady says with a smirk. "Yea, how did that get along", Trish joins in. "W-well...", Rose stutters blushing madly.
"Come on, we have plenty of time for every detail." The two lean forward pressuring the blonde even more.
And so Rose starts to tell her story about Nero. How they met as they were children, how they would do everything together and how she fell for him. She even included his rejection and Kyrie.
After telling the two curious ladies the present events they lean back with satisfaction on their faces.

"How romantic", Lady sighs. "Yea, speaking of the perfect man." Trish leans back.

Nico stops the car on a platform. "Now would you look at that view!"
The group of girls go outside to take the scenery in. "Wow. Even though the city is destroyed I'm impressed", Trish says crossing her arms in front of her chest. Rose smiles.

Right now the only thing she can think of is Nero.

Suddenly the platform starts to rumble. "What? What's happening now", Lady says worriedly.
"Oh god. I thought it was over", Trish calls out. The next one to speak up is Nico. "This isn't good. We're going to get dragged into this!"
As the girls run for the van Dante suddenly lands on the unstable platform.
"Dante! What happened?"
"My dumbass brother's back and I'm going to rip him a new one."
"Vergil's-? How?!"
Rose runs into the van only to see Nico with Lady's rocket launcher in her hands. "Dante! Made it for Lady and she paid for it, so consider it a rental."
"Hey, you can't just-", Lady starts to protest but is interrupted by Dante.

"Okay, okay, we'll take care of that later. Right now, you four get the hell out of here. I'm going to go take care of old douchebag. Got a feeling this one's going to be a doozy", Dante says before marching off once again.

In the meanwhile the girls run into the van and start the engine.
"Nico! There's a path", Rose says as she points straight ahead.
There's a Qliphoth root that leads directly to the bottom. "Gotcha!"
The mechanic steps on the gas pedal even harder now going at maximum speed as the road behind them slowly starts to break off.
"Faster", Lady shouts.
"Wait! Isn't that Nero", Trish shouts as she sees a figure running down the same way.
"Oh my god, it is!"

"Nero, jump in", Nico yells getting the male's attention.
Quickly Rose and Trish run to the back and open the door to help Nero get inside.
Rose reaches out her hand for Nero to catch which he eventually does resulting in Rose pulling him inside the van.
"Where's Dante", He yells.
"He's got this. We got to go, now!"
Nero growls.
"So this guy Vergil, you know him", He then asks Trish. "Vaguely, yes."

Nero stomps to Rose's side.
"Dante said that guy's my father... What the hell's going on, Trish?!"
"His logic is sound... I had a hunch myself."
Out of frustration Nero hits the wall.
"This doesn't make any sense", He yells.

"I know you hate Vergil, but you can't kill your own father!"
"It's true. You'd never recover from that", Lady says because she knows what she's talking about.
"You saved us, you should be proud. Now you can put all this behind you-"
"Nico! Stop the car-"
"Nero!" Rose holds Nero back.
"No chance! After all this, are you insane?!"

Rose cups Nero's heated face. "Nero, please. Calm down and we'll settle this", She gently says trying to calm the male down.
He sighs. "Fine. I'll go by myself!"
Suddenly Nero kicks the door of the van open and jumps out.
"Nero", Rose yells as she looks after him.
"I'm going after him", She says but Trish holds her back. "Rose, no! You'll die!"
"And so will he", The blonde cries.

"If he goes back he'll get killed and I can't do anything to stop that!"
Trish looks at the crying girl in front of her who just dropped her brave facade.
"This is too much for me to handle! What if he never comes back! I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye!"

Trish pulls the fragile Rose into her arms.
Rose buries her face into Trish's shoulder crying her eyes and the stress out.
"We never thought it would be such a burden to you. I'm sorry, Rose", The demon says as she carefully strokes Rose's blonde curls.
"Sit down and rest. You need it."
Lady and Trish sit the panicked Rose onto the couch and keep her company while Nico drives down the breaking road at maximum speed.

After a few more minutes of driving the finally reach the streets of the city.

As the group looks back the path they used to escape is gone. "Good thing we have a fast baby", Nico says as she pats the wheel of the van.
All three girls gather around Rose who is now laying on the couch in total shock.
"Bring her some water and food. She's completely pale."
After that Rose's eyes slowly close and she drifts off to dreamland.

04:27 pm:
Suddenly the ringing of the phone wakes Rose from her sleep. Immediately she jumps up and answers the phone with high anticipation.
"Hello?"
She hears someone clearing their throat at the end of the line. "Nero? Is that you", Rose asks.
"Did something happen?"
"Rose...", The male sighs.
"You remember that when I was a kid, ... I was alone. You, Kyrie and Credo were all I knew. And now all of a sudden, I find out I have a family." He sighs once again.
"What am I supposed to do with that?"

Rose starts to smile as Nero finally wants to talk rather than jump out of the van into danger. 
"You always know which path is right and which is wrong. There's no need to doubt yourself", Rose says as a tear runs down her cheek.
A silent chuckle escapes Nero's lips.
"Thanks... I guess that's all I need to hear. I have one last thing to take care of then I'm coming home."

The next moment Rose only hears beeping from the other line.
He must have hung up.

Now the only thing she can do is pray for her love to come back safely.
