Chapter 6

I can just feel his stare, like constantly and it's making me really uncomfortable.

I look to my right and again Alex is looking at me with an expression on his face I'm not sure what he means with. After last time at work I don't know whether he's really annoyed by me or if he's just 'messing around' with me, so I just awkwardly look away every time I catch him looking at me.

Which is weird, because he's the one looking at me and not the other way around. I shouldn't be the one looking away, he should be.

I turn around again and Alex is still looking at me, this time I look back and I'm kinda waiting for Alex to start and feel awkward but me looking at him doesn't really seem to bother him.

He doesn't look away and he also doesn't seem to care about the fact that I caught him looking at me. I give him an angry look and then I turn around again because I can't take it anymore.

I know Alex is trying to get to me and I know I shouldn't care about it but I just get annoyed by it every time and I shouldn't because I know that's exactly what he wants.

I just don't understand why he does it. I mean okay probably because he's a fricking asshole but like why does he have to do it to me.

Not that he isn't an asshole to Hailey, he is. It's just that he seems to enjoy it even more if he annoys me. The worst thing is that it drives me crazy and I don't know why. Seriously why do I let this guy get to me.

I look at him one more time and he probably sees my confused face because he grins. I look away, to my left. Alex's sister Ella smiles at me.

I still don't understand why Alex has such an attitude. Noah told me that things aren't going great at their home but Ella seems like she's doing fine so I guess it's just Alex being Alex. I smile back, she's nice. I think I could be friends with her.

Finally the game is over, it was a terrible match and our team lost real bad but at least Alex won't be able to bother me anymore.

After the first half of the game I decided to stop focusing on Alex and start focusing on Ella. Ella is actually really funny and she likes running so we're going on a run together this weekend.

I'm not that big of a runner myself but she asked and I didn't want to make it look like I didn't want to hang out with her so I said yes.

Usually on Friday nights we hang out a little bit but I don't think there are any plans made for tonight because Thomas, Hailey and Ella have already left.

I think Noah didn't want to ask Alex to go out with us after Thomas and I got pissed at him for inviting him and Ella to the game tonight.

Noah and Alex went to talk to some guys from the football team so Jaimy and I are now alone.

"You wanna do something fun tonight?" I turn to Jaimy and I give him a hesitating look as I answer, "Hmm I don't know, what is fun?"

Jaimy stops walking and he starts laughing. He pulls me in a little closer. "I was thinking" he pauses and gives me a kiss on my nose before he continues "we could go watch a movie at your place because we missed our movie night last time."

I smile back at him. "Sounds pretty fun, but which movie are we watching?"

"How about you get to pick one this time." I grin at him and quickly give him a kiss before I pull my hand out of his and start running towards the car.

I can see the regret on his face when I reach his car and turn around to look at him. All I do is grin at him. "Elynn, do we really have to watch Footloose again?"

I open the car door and go sit down in the front. Jaimy walks around the car and comes sitting next to me in the drivers seat. He opens his mouth but before he can say anything I already cut him off.

"You said I could pick the movie and honestly you could've seen this one coming." I laugh and he starts laughing too. "I know. The second I saw that grin on your face I knew which movie you picked."

I shrug my shoulders "Footloose just happens to be the greatest movie in history so yeah you can't really argue with that."

"You know I used to think that too and the first 6 times you made me watch it were still pretty fun but now that I've seen it like 40 times I-"

"Wow okay, let me stop you right there before you go say something really stupid." Jaimy raises one eyebrow at me. "I forgot how bossy you can get when it comes to Footloose. But even though I am kind of over it after watching it about 40 times I will keep watching it with you until you get over it someday."

I press one hand to my heart and with the other I pretend to wipe a tear from my eye. "You know I can't believe you just told me your 'over Footloose' as if it's nothing but because you're my boyfriend and because I do really like you I think I can forgive you." Jaimy gives me a little push and he laughs while he stars the car.

"Oh and just so you know, I will never get over Footloose so you'll probably be watching it with me your whole life."

Jaimy rolls his eyes at me "If that's what it takes for me to be with you then fine, but don't be surprised if my 70 year old self can't manage to stay awake the whole movie anymore." He grins at me. "Oh don't you worry about that, I'll find some ways to keep you awake."

Jaimy bends over to kiss me but suddenly the car door opens and Noah and Alex get in the back seat. I turn around and give Noah an angry look.

"What we just need a ride home, you can't just leave us here." I look at Alex but he just shrugs his shoulders and looks at Noah as if this was all his idea. I turn back to Jaimy

"Fine but we're still watching Footloose." Jaimy laughs "Of course we're still watching Footloose." Alex sighs "Seriously Footloose? That's like the lamest movie of all time."

I purse my lips together to prevent myself from saying something mean to Alex even tho I really want to right now.

Noah gives him a little push while he laughs, "Dude don't say that in front of her, she'll kill you." Alex starts laughing too but when he sees the look on my face he quickly stops "Oh my you really are one of those serious fans, aren't you?"

I want to say something back but before I can say something bitchy to Alex Jaimy asks, "So where are we going?"

Apparently Alex and Noah decided to hang out at our place as well so we all ordered pizza together and now we're just sitting in the living room.

Alex comes back from the kitchen with a glass of water and I don't know why but I catch myself staring at him. He probably notices it too because he raises his eyebrows at me. I cough and I quickly turn to Noah and Jaimy again.

Alex sits down next to Noah and he sips some of his water before he asks, "So, what are we watching?" Now I raise my eyebrows at him. "Uhm, Footloose." I answer.

Noah laughs a little "Elynn, can't we watch something else? You know, because it's all of us now." I hesitate.

I really don't mind which movie we're watching that much but I really just wanted to hang out with Jaimy for a bit. We don't really have that much time alone because we're always together with all the others which is fine but it's just nice to have some time where it's just the two of us as well.

Alex turns to me "Why are you so obsessed with that movie anyways, it's not even that good." Now I really want to get mad at him but instead I just force a smile on my face and say "You know it's fine, we can watch something else."

And the only reason I say that is because even tho I still think he's an asshole if he's going to be in our group of friends I should a least try my best to not let him get to me this much.

Alex and Noah both look a little confused about the fact that I didn't just start a big fight about this but Jaimy silently mouths me a 'thank you' and I smile at him.

He knows I don't like Alex but he also knows I really am trying to.
