1.5 Facing The Thing

A few days later. At Derek's hide out.

I watched how Derek was training his betas. Isaac started to attack Derek but Derek just slammed him into the ground. Then Isaac tried again and with the same outcome. And and again and again.

Isaac grimaced in pain. Erica attacked Derek from behind but he grabbed her and slammed her down next to Isaac.

Derek asked annoyed " Does anyone wanna try not being completely predictable? "

Suddenly Erica jumped on Derek and kissed him. He kissed back but then pushed her back to the ground.

He looked at me but i just looked at him.

Then he looked at Erica and wiped his mouth " That's the last time you do that. "

Erica " Why? Because I'm a beta? "

Derek" No, because I have someone else in mind for you. "

Isaac" Are we done? I got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal. "

Derek kneeled down to Isaac "Come here. "

Isaac gave him his arm and Derek broke it "A hundred and one. You think I'm teaching you how to fight? Huh? Look at me! I'm teaching you how to survive! "

Isaac "If they wanted us dead why aren't they coming for us now? What are they waiting for?"

Derek shook his head " I don't know. But they're planning something. And you, especially, know that's not our only problem. Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac's father, I think it killed someone else last night. Until I find out what it is, you all need to learn everything that I know. As fast as I can teach you."

He walked into a wagon. I sighed and followed him.

Derek whipped the sweat away with his towel "Aren't you going to say anything?"

I crossed my arms over my chest "say what?"

Derek "about Scott?"

Me "what about Scott?"

Derek "He's the one you came back for, right? he's your brother"

I chuckled "what? no"

Derek "why else did you stop me from killing him? hm? i saw it in your eyes, Lis, he's your brother"

I shook my head "he is not my brother, Derek"

He scoffed.

Me "Then listen to my heartbeat, Derek. I was never able to lie to you, and you know that. Scott is not my brother"

He looked at me "and you're telling the truth"

i nodded "i am."

He nodded.

I sighed "what are you going to do now? about the new monster"

Derek shrugged "i don't know. Do you know anything about it? maybe you know what it could be?

I shrugged "i don't know, Derek, i honestly don't know"

He breathed out "i don't even know where to start with catching it"

Me "Tonight is a game. Maybe it's going to be there"

Derek asked confused "how do you know?"

Me "because Stiles saw the creature"

He nodded.

At the swim hall. At school. Night.

Derek and i were standing by the pools. We were waiting for Erica who was going to bring us Stiles.

Stiles breathed out scared when he saw us "Lisandra, Derek. "

Me "Stiles, we need your help"

Stiles "help you? yeah"

Then he looked at him "but help him? no"

Derek raised his eyebrows.

I sighed "fine, then only help me"

Stiles nodded "fine. "

Derek "What did you see at the mechanics garage? "

Stiles" Uh, several alarming EPA violations that I'm seriously considering reporting. "

Derek shot him an not amused look.

I sighed "Stiles, please"

Stiles took a deep breath "All right, the thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark. Kind of patterned. Uh, I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Okay, because I've somebody I really need to talk to - Hrr. All right, fine, eyes. Eyes are, um, yellowish. And slitted. Um, has a lot of teeth. Oh. And it's got a tail, too. Are we good? "

I heard something and looked up. My eyes widened and i put a hand on Derek's arm who looked at me and then up.

Stiles asked confused "What? Wait, have you seen it? You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I am talking about. "

He turned around and looked up. The thing screeched at us.

Erica attacked it but it slammed her against the wall. Derek pushed Stiles and me backwards "Run!"

Suddenly there was a scratch on his neck.

I froze "Derek, your neck"

Derek lost balance and Stiles grabbed him and started to run away.

I shifted and roared at it.

It screeched at me and i took a few steps back. That's a pretty scary thing.

Stiles "Where is it? Can you see it? "

Derek" I can smell it. Please hurry. Call Scott! "

Stiles grabbed his phone but it fell to the ground. Derek lost balance and fell into the water, pulling Stiles with him.

I shook my head at them.

i looked around but couldn't see it anymore.

Stiles "Where did it go? Do you see it? "

Derek " No. "

Stiles"Okay, maybe it took off."

Suddenly we heard it screech or roar or whatever that was.

Derek "Maybe not. "

I looked around.

Derek " You get me out of here before I drown. "

Stiles" You're worried about drowning? Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor sharp teeth. "

Derek" Did you notice I'm paralyzed from the neck down in eight feet of water? "

Stiles" Okay. I don't see it."

Suddenly felt something land behind me and i froze completely.
