1.9 Jackson The Snake

Day. at the hideout.

I walked over to Derek who put his jacket on.

Me "Were are you going?"

Derek "i'm going to find that thing"

I shook my head "you shouldn't"

He raised an eyebrow at me "what?"

Me "you should stay and train your betas. Because you're gonna need them now more than ever"

Derek looked at me "while you do what?"

Me "go out and find out that thing"

Derek "alone?"

Me "It's day outside. it can't do me any harm and you know that"

Derek "be careful "

I nodded "sure"

In the woods. by the cliffs.

I pulled over behind the prison van. I got out of the car and saw Scott, Allison and Stiles standing there.

Scott tensed "how did you find us?"

Me "Jackson's scent"

Stiles "are you alone?"

I nodded "i am. I was had to convince Derek to stay put."

Scott nodded "good"

Me "i'm afraid i won't be able do that again"

He nodded "i appreciate it"

I nodded and pointed at the van that was standing there "so you locked him into the van?"

Scott nodded "yeah, figuered it was the best way"

I nodded "he doesn't remember, does he?"

Scott "he doesn't remember being the kanima, and he's definitely not gonna remember stealing Danny's tablet. "

Stiles"Why would he steal the thing if he doesn't even know what's on it?"

Allison "What if someone else took it? "

Stiles " Then somebody else knows what he is."

Scott: "Uh, which could mean someone's protecting him."

Allison " Like the bestiary says, "the kanima seeks a friend," right? "

I pouted.

Stiles" Okay, hold on. So, somebody watches Jackson make a video of himself turning into the kanima, and then just erases part of it so he wouldn't know? I mean, who would do that? "

Allison"Somebody who wanted to protect him? "

Scott shook his head " There's something else. You said the only thing you found online about the kanima is that it goes after murderers. What if that's actually true? "

Stiles shook his head "No, it can't be. Tried to kill all of us, remember? I don't know about you three, but I haven't murdered anybody lately."

Scott "But I - I don't think that it was actually trying to kill us. Remember when we were at Isaac's the first time, it just went right by us, didn't it? "

Allison nodded "You're right, it just ran off."

Scott " And it didn't kill you in the mechanic's garage"

Stiles "Well, yeah, but it tried to kill me, Lisandra, Derek in the pool. "

Scott "Did it?"

Stiles nodded " It would've. It was waiting for us to come out. "
