1.6 The Kanima

I tensed.

Stiles "Lisandra, behind you!"

I nodded "i know"

Then i shifted and jumped over the pool. 

I slipped with one foot and nearly fell into the water but i could pull myself up and landed on the ground next to the pool. 

Suddenly i heard Stiles yell "Watch out!"

I saw the creature jumped over the pool and landing with its tail into the water. The creature hissed as if the water was acid.

Me "you see that?!"

Then it walked over to me and i crawled backwards. I tried to kick it with my soaked foot.

Stiles yelled "don't get scratched by it!"

Me "wasn't planning on it, Stilinski!"

I jumped up, shifted and roared at it.

It now stood on two feet.

i tried to claw it but it didn't work.

Stiles "Derek, i'm gonna have to let go of you. I need to call Scott"

Derek "you let go of me now and i'm gonna drown"

Stils suddenly let go of him and swam out of the water. he grabbed his phone while Derek drowned in the pool.

i tried to jump into the water but when i was close to touching the water he grabbed me with his tail around my throat and pulled my back.

I gasped and groaned.

Stiles "Lisandra!"

I tried to break free of its tail but it didn't work.

Stiles jumped back into the pull to bring Derek up.

I couldn't really breath anymore.

Then i bit it in it's tail. It screeched and let me fall.

I gasped out and crawled over to the pool. I was going to jump in but suddenly i was impaled on its tail.

I cried out and rolled into the pool.

My blood started to color the water.

I groaned out "Great"

Derek "Stiles, get her, now!"

I tried to swim over to them but it was hard since there was a hole in my stomach.

Stiles reached out for me "come on, Lisandra"

I grabbed his hand and he pushed me onto Derek. I put my arms around Derek's neck from the side.

Stiles grimaced "okay now it's getting harder to hold you both up"

I grimaced "i'm trying, believe me but it's hard since i have a hole in my stomach!"

Stiles" I can't stay up any longer, I need something to hold on to. "

Me "The jump stairs, Stiles"

Stiles "you think you can make it?"

Me "no but it's worth a try""

Stiles shot me a look.

Me"Stiles, we don't have a choice!"

Stiles "but you have a hole in your stoma-"

I yelled "Stiles!"

His eyes widened "okay"

Then we started to swim towards the jump stairs.

Stiles reached for it but slipped away.

Me "Stiles"

We all sunk down.

Suddenly we got pulled out of the water.

I spit out water.

It was Scott. He roared at the thing.

I watched them while i spit water.

The thing threw Scott against a mirror and it shattered. Scott grabbed a piece of the mirror and as weapon. The thing slowly crawled to him. Then it looked at itself in the piece of the mirror and jumped onto the railing and then out of the window.

I let myself fall back, coughing.

Outside.

I was sitting on Derek's car hood grimacing in pain. The wound was healing but still it hurts like a bitch.

Derek "you okay?"

There was worry in his eyes.

I teased him   "is that worry i see in your eyes, Hale?"

He rolled his eyes but then it turned serious"I'm serious, Lisandra"

I nodded "i'm fine"

He grabbed my hand and i saw his veins turning dark.

I shook my head  "you don't have -"

Derek "shh"

He gave me a little smile.

I returned it.

But it faded when i started to feel bad because i lied to him earlier.

I sighed "Der-"

Erica walked to us"What was that thing?"

I rolled my eyes.

Derek "i have something in mind but...but i don't know if it's that thing"

I nodded "i know what you mean, what you're thinking about"

Derek "and?"

I nodded "and you're right"

Then i looked around and saw Scott and Stiles on the laptop scrolling through the bestiary.

I jumped off the hood and walked over to them.

Scott " How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is? "

Me " It's called a kanima. "

Stiles looked at me irritated "You knew the whole time. "

I shook my head "i didn't. Only when it was confused by its own reflection. "

Scott"it doesn't know what it is. "

I nodded "Or who. "

Stiles " What else do you know? "

Me "Just stories, rumors. "

Scott"But it's like us? "

Derek nodded "A shape - shifter, yes, but it's - it's not right. It's like a - "

Stiles"An abomination."

I nodded.

Scott "Derek? Lisandra? We need to work together on this. Maybe even tell the Argents."

I raised an eyebrow

Derek " You trust them? "

Scott snapped "Nobody trusts anyone! That's the problem. While we're here, arguing about who's on what side, there's something scarier, stronger and faster than any of us, and it's killing people and we still don't even know anything about it. "

Derek started to walk away" I know one thing, when I find it? I'm gonna kill it! "

I looked after him.
