FLASHBACK OVERThat had been then, now I was waiting to see Jax with his mom; at my feet a car seat. Jax was right, not sure how but he had been; it was a boy. I remember when I found out I started crying. The hardest thing was doing it without them with me the doctors' visits sucked but the hardest was definitely when I had him. All I wanted was my dad and Jax and I couldn't have them and it sucked. I had Gemma, Lyla, Opie and Chibs with me. He was healthy and perfect and I knew what to name him Thomas Xavier Teller.
I looked up as Gemma stood, hugging Jax and kissing his cheek. I stood as Jax smiled at me cupping my face and kissing me, I held his side relishing the few moments I got of this. He let go and smirked looking around me as I stepped aside. He walked up bending down and looking at our son.
I took him out of the car seat and gently handed him to Jax. He took him trying to get him comfortable in his arms as he watched him in amazement.
"Say hello to daddy."
"He's perfect." He said smiling at me. "Hey Thomas."
I think he was shocked when he first found out I named our son after his little brother, even more shocked was Dean because of Thomas' middle name. I watched Jax hold our son and couldn't keep the smile off my face and I snapped a photo on my phone.
'I'll give you guys a few minutes." Gemma said smiling as she grabbed her bag and walked away. Jax kept looking at Thomas and up at me before he stroked my face.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there."
"It's ok." I said looking at him. "Your mom was in the room."
"God, I'm sorry for that too." He said chuckling. Jax looked up at me and we sat just looking at each other "I promise I'll never miss anything like this again." I smiled running my hand and finger along his face, lips and smirking as he grabbed it kissing it before I poked his nose making him chuckle.
We just sat facing each other, while he held Thomas, us holding hands or kissing or him pressing his head against mine. "I would have never thought this would be us." He said making me look at him. "I'm so happy Nik, being here sucks but you, you gave me a son, you love me; I really couldn't ask for more. You are amazing.""Thank you, your pretty amazing yourself." I said rubbing Thomas' hand as Jax rubbed his hand on my leg.
"Time's up Teller." I sighed looking up at the guard who walked up. He was surprisingly one of the cool guys here and let me have some extra time. Jax reluctantly handed me back Thomas kissing his head before kissing me.
"I love you." He murmured against my lips.
"I love you." I returned as he pulled away. I watched him walk away and a few minutes later my dad walked through the door. His face instantly turning to a smile as he saw me with a baby.
"Is that my grandbaby?" He asked walking up and hugging me tightly before he looked at Thomas. "Shit he's beautiful baby, you did good."
"Wanna hold him, grandpa?" I asked making my dad look at me.
"Of course." He said holding his hand out. "Hey little man, how ya doin?" He asked holding Thomas.
It was different seeing my dad holding a baby, but it looked right. "How's Jax take it?"
"He's a great dad, he was beyond excited. How's Dean?" I asked quietly. He had gotten food poisoning so he declined seeing me this week because he knew the baby was coming up.
"Good, sends his love." I watched my dad smiling and took a picture. He was holding Thomas looking at him like he was the greatest thing on the planet before he looked up at me. "I'm so fucking proud of you baby." He said smiling. Like Jax his hair was shorter.
"Thank you daddy." I said as he kissed my cheek.
"Your mother would be proud of you too. I don't know how because I know it wasn't me but you grew up into a beautiful amazing woman."
"It was you, rather you believe it or not you're the greatest man I've ever known. She's be proud of you too ya know?" I said softly. "You stepped up when she got killed, you never let me or Dean feel like we couldn't come to you or you wouldn't be there. You loved us even though I know losing her killed you." My dad looked up at me and I could see the tears hiding behind his eyes.
"Thank you baby." We spent a few more minutes together before he had to go back.
I found Gemma and she hugged me as I walked out. One thing didn't change, every time we left from seeing them I would cry. It always meant another whole week without them just for a long drive and a few minutes. It sucked even more because Jax denied my idea of a conjugal visit, I was down and he said no because he knew the guard would want to watch; and according to him no one was seeing me. I watched the scenery pass as things changed as we made it back to Charming. Getting out I did my normal I went to Jax's dorm threw on a shirt and took a nap with our son. These last few months couldn't pass quick enough, I wanted Jax home; I wanted all of them home.
