I've been quaking for a green-eyes Link for the past few days for some reason, also that's the simpler version of Zelda's dress from the last AU idea (aka the one for when she's not in action)

Anyway, as you may have noticed, this Link is not Hylian, he is a Werian

A Werian is a Hylian/Wolf mix that started popping up after the Twilight Invasion. With some remnants of Twilight still in Hyrule, it started mixing with the Hylians, slowly transforming them into half-wolfs. They were able to control the situation, but by then there already too many "mutants" of sorts, so they became they're own species/land. They live in the forest and in tribes, of sorts.

Werians prefer to remain in their wolf form, they can still transform into Hylians though. However, they still don't have to much control over their transformation, so if they're in their Hylian form and get very emotional (negatively to be specific), they could transform into wolves and go feral. They'll have zero control over themselves until they've calmed down. That's why some become "familiars."

Since the Sheikah clan went practically extinct, these guys took over the role of protecting the royal family. They are still part Hylian after all. Any Hylian can get a Werian as their familiar, but they mostly work for the royal family, being a familiar to someone in the castle. The Werian gets to choose whether or not to become a familiar, they're not forced into it.

See the gold pendant with a silver flower on Link and Zelda? That's their Contract of Familiarity. Only Zelda can break the contract. With that pendant, Zelda can control Link to do anything she wants. She prefers not to use it and let's Link transform whenever he wants. But if Link gets really negatively emotional, he can't transform unless Zelda says so. The Contract of Familiarity comes in different ways, for them it's that pendant.

Unfortunately, this also means that Werians could be used for evil reasons. It happens rarely, though, in that case, the contract is forcefully broken through a lot of magic and paper work, this way the Werian can be free and find a new master, or go back to Werian land.

Werians have to keep some of their wolf parts when they become Hylian, for example their ears and teeth. They can choose to use some like their claws and tails. They're "transformation sequence" between wolf and Hylian is a bunch of black squares consuming them, similar to Wolf Link and normal Link's sequence from TP.

And that's it. Wow that's a lot. If you're confused, ask any questions and I'll answer them

Kay bye bye
