I shouldn't have gotten to know him. Maybe if I would have waited until this was all over, he wouldn't be in danger right now. If Jay ends up killing Ezekiel it would break me. The first guy I connect with in years and I may be responsible for his death. Losing him the same way I lost Finn—what great luck I have, right?
It had only been a little over an hour since finding out but it felt like it'd been over a month. I was counting every miserable minute — every anxious second. We were all brainstorming and trying to figure out where they could be but ultimately came up with nothing. I even tried to do a locator spell but it was blocked by magic that seemed almost equal to mine, I couldn't break it.
Eventually all the sadness and regret disappeared and the anger and determination set in. Even if Jay didn't kill him, I would make him pay. I was thinking of all the ways I could torture Jay and whoever he's following right now as we speak.
"Alright. . . . So I came up with a spell to that'll grant us immunity to immersion" Enya said, strutting into the living room. Her long blonde hair swaying at every movement. Even as upset as I was, her zestful energy and bright smile could always lighten the mood.
"That's great news. We only have about ten and a half hours left before Jay kills Ezekiel and I need to make sure that doesn't happen. And we need to find this mysterious witch in order to find him." I declared.
Although I was coming across calm, inside I was freaking out. Ezekiel and I may not have known each other for that long, but I cared about him. More than I probably should given the short amount of time we've spent together. But I've genuinely grown to like him and he's the first guy that's even felt worthy of my time in recent years, that has to mean something.
"Okay, I need everyone to repeat after me!" We all joined hands and closed our eyes. "Liberum immersionem" she continued. We all joined in and chanted it a few more times.
"Did it work?" Avian asked, curious.
"I'm not sure. . . . only one way to find out I guess" Enya replied. "Zarya, try to immerse one of us!"
"Okay" she agreed.
Zarya slowly walked over to Rauz and looked him directly in the eye. She had a playful smirk on her face, one that told me she was up to something. "Rauz, I want you to slap yourself in the face as hard as you can. It would make me extremely happy." She demanded in an intense but convincing manner. She didn't blink and there wasn't even an ounce of hesitation in her voice. She said it as if she knew he would obey.
"Okay what are we five years old?" Enya snapped, rolling her eyes at the ridiculousness of Zarya's request. I happened to find it a little funny if im honest.
Rauz raised his hand as if he was about to hit himself but it also seemed like he was trying to fight it.
"I don't think it worked. . . . We may need to come up with another spell" Raven said, nervous.
Rauz broke eye contact with Zarya and then erupted into laughter. "No the spell totally worked, I just wanted to see you guy's reaction!" We all joined in on his laughter. "I was so believable, I'm like the next Viola Davis or something!"
"Your so annoying" Calluna joked.
There was a knock on the door, it was Carrington and Julia so we let them in. They looked a mess, as if they traveled through the gates of hell itself to get here. Carringtons clothes were tattered and so were Julias, they had blood all over them.
