"Raven remember, you're not angry... you're just bored" I said sternly, saying that always helped me calm her down. Her short temper had a habit of getting the best of her.
"Ugh, I hate him so much! He just keeps on lying and lying" Raven snapped as she was being held back.
"Trust me, he will have to answer for lying... but we unfortunately need him alive right now. He'll pay when the time is right." I promised, her expression calmed and her eyes softened—she seemed to be taking back her control.
"Well you definitely cant do it now, if that Dark Magic consumes you... you may not be able to come back from it" Calluna mentioned and although she was right, it didn't stop me from still considering it.
"And a witch as powerful as Altiair going rogue and turning evil is the last thing we need right now" Rauz added nervously, I looked at him apprehensively .
"What other option do we have though? That would just leave us wide open for the vampires to come after us... I mean we don't really know how to fight them, as we saw today" my voice was full of concern and frustration. It genuinely felt like we were out of options.
"But we can learn" Enya urged, her icy blue eyes more determined than ever. "Maybe you don't do the spell and instead, we research and find other vampires around the world to help us. We can learn as much about them as possible and maybe even befriend a few to help us fight"
It wasn't a horrible idea but it was incredibly risky, we'd have to go far to find them because any vampire from here to St, Helena would most likely be working with Ezekiel.
"We can definitely keep that as an option, it's the best one we have as of now"
"True, but I still can barely control my powers so ill most likely be killed by the time this is all over" Avian said reluctantly, I could sense that he was extremely uncomfortable which made me feel bad.
"You will learn Avian, trust me... we're going to do some training while we're here as well. Heavy training—the academy is the best place for it. There's a plethora of books and resources here." I assured him, he seemed pleased with that.
"So when are you going to confront Kane" Luxx asked me.
"Soon... but not just yet..."
I wanted to wait to confront Kane—make him think everything was okay, so I decided to wait until tomorrow to say anything to him.
Kane walked in, flashing his usual sinister grin—his presence was like a dark cloud, constantly hovering over him.
"I take it you're settling in nicely..." he said smugly.
"We are, I would like to request something though. Avian here is fairly new to practicing magic, and I need to train him as soon as possible." I started, he stared at me with curious eyes. "I need access to every spell book in the academy, including the ones you keep from everyone to ensure they remain weaker than you."
He grimaced. "Im sorry but I can't do that, he would have to study the same books as everyone else"
"Oh... it seems I worded that in a way that led you to believe you had an option, let me try that again. Kane, give me access to the spell books that you have locked away or im going to magically snatch the air out of your lungs until you comply." My tone was sharp, but I had very little patience when it came to him.
