skydiving

when I told you I loved you
and opened my heart

it seemed like jumping out of an plane
without a parachute on

knowing for sure that I'll break
and shatter on the ground

but the green and blue colour looked
so beautiful and innocent up there

so I jumped out of the plane
with anticipation and excitement in my veins

fully aware of the consequences
but accepting them as a part of the fall

and I felt so free
so happy and carefree

while the wind blew softly
through my messy hair

and even though the height
looked so dangerous yet luring from up there

I'm glad that I've jumped

because who would have thought
I could grow my own wings
during the fall

now I still fly up in the sky
carrying your heart in my hands
like a treasure
showing it the beauty of the soft wind
and the feeling of freedom

and I realised that you never know
what to expect
when you fall for someone

you simply have to find out

either love teaches you how to to fly
or soleness and sorrow drag you down

and when you crash
you didn't loose

because you'll find a way
to stick your pieces back together

creating a new puzzle
building yourself up stronger

getting to know yourself a bit better
knowing that you won't ever take that sort of plane again

but maybe another one
one that is worth jumping for
worth taking the risk

and maybe that's all love is about

when you ask me

the first steps of love demand risks like
a fall demands gravity

the two complete each other
or else you'd just be stuck in one place
