I started to do the dishes glancing at my watch every now and then. I knew it had to be fake but still. I needed to know for sure. When Carus left to check on mom I went to my room. My watches buzzed a little.

I shake my head and ignore it for now. I need to know where it was coming from. I pulled out my tablet and tried tracing where the signal came from. It was something everyone was taught to do. I scanned through the codes before coordinates were shown.

I frowned confused as I look at them. It's from the Arctic. That can't be right. The only place in the Arctic is... Dad? No he wouldn't be this cryptic. Maybe they're hiding the source. That's probably it.

Such a rare power to waste.

I gulp as I look at the message. I decide to message back. I need to know what they were talking about. I don't have any powers. I wrote wondering how they'd respond.

It was a phrase but it meant a lot. Moon cross is when the moon crosses over the sun. It happened once a month every month. One thing happened every moon cross. People can't us their powers until it's over. Meeting a moon cross was a way of diplomacy and it was very important. Turning a moon cross meeting is forbidden to any soldier.
