The woman walks me over to a chair and sat me down. "I think your body is stealing the ardor around you." She says simply. "It's just not quite enough to give you powers." She says a little to excited. This wasn't going to end well at all. She put her necklace away for now letting be get back to my senses.
"Stealing Ardor?" I asked confused. I start looking around for a way out. I was pretty scared. I don't know what kind of Ardor the woman has. Possibly mental ardor if that gem is anything to go off of. The amicus started to stir. I gulp nervously hoping that it could get out.
The nurse pulls out a syringe full of some kind of glowing golden liquid. "There are a few people that can't produce ardor like you. They're usually sent out as fodder for any battles if they join the military." She says. "Such a waste really. I was gonna suffer the same fate as then until I was scouted by one of the military scientists." She forcefully grabs my arm.
I quickly jump up and try to get away from her. Listening to her talking was one thing but I wasn't letting her inject me with whatever that was. "Come on, it's just some refined ardor." She kept a tight grip on me. "Get away from me! You're crazy!" I yelled starting to panic. I didn't know what to do.
"Don't you want to learn about yourself?" She asks smirking. "Learn why you don't have any abilities?" She asks. She went to inject me with it but I started to push all the buttons in the lab I could reach. I thought that might distract her. Thankfully it did.
The woman was starting to panic and went to fix whatever I did to her machines. I hurry over to the glass cage and messes with the computer trying to open it. After a few seconds the glass door hisses open. I watched as the amicus bolted out of the cage and I hurried after it. The woman started to chase us as we opened the door.
I kept running fire what seemed like forever. Thankfully I still go to military training so I'm just a little faster than the woman. Not enough to slow down though. I spot my watch in the distance. I don't know if I should risk it though. I could call for help but that's no good if she can catch me. Maybe she can even block it. Maybe the amicus can help?
