- Christina's POV -
I walked down stairs with Rachel and was shocked upon seeing Jordan having an argument with Matt right in the middle of the party, surrounded by everyone.
"What is going on?!" I asked, pushing past people in order to get to Jordan and Matt.
"Jordan refuses to leave." Matt said.
"No. What I refuse to do is let Christina end up with an asshole like you!" Jordan shouted.
"Jordan, don't do this. Not here." I said softly, putting my hand on his chest.
"I'll do whatever I want." He said, pushing my hand off of him.
"Jordan, you need to go home." Matt said, stepping closer to him. By now the argument had caught almost the whole party's attention.
"Or what? You'll hit me like you hit Christina?!" Jordan asked as a collective amount of gasps were heard throughout the party.
"Jordan, stop!" I yelled.
"Let me finish, honey." He said.
"You don't need to finish anything." Matt said.
"No, no. I think you'd want to hear what I have to say next." Jordan smirked.
"Jordan, please. Not in front of everyone." I begged.
He shot me a wink before he said the one secret I wanted to keep forever, "Matt, while you were away in Vegas Christina had sex with me."
"Is that true?!" Matt asked me enraged.
"Come on, Matt. You can't leave her alone for a weekend and not expect her to have sex with someone. I mean, back when I first met her it was easier to count the population of the country that she hadn't slept with." Jordan said as my mouth opened wide in shock.
I slapped Jordan across the face as hard as I could before turning around and pushing through the crowd that had gathered around us.
I ended up in the far corner of my backyard, sitting and crying. Jordan had ruined my night and possibly my engagement. I just didn't understand why he would do something like that. Ten minutes before hand he told me he loved me, but what he did just then was clearly the opposite of loving.
It took about five minutes for Rachel to find me. She took a seat next to me and I offered her a weak smile.
As soon as she started to hug me the tears started flowing again.
"Did he really hit you?" She asked.
I nodded in reply as she hugged me even tighter.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about it. I'm sure mom is more than angry for the both of us." She said.
"I don't care about that. Matt knows I slept with Jordan. It's over, Rach." I said.
"As far as I'm concerned, it was over the minute he laid a hand on you."
Rachel and I sat outside and talked for about an hour before we went back inside the house. Matt had already declared the party over and cleared everyone out by the time we went in.
Stepping inside the house, I quickly noticed how eerily quiet it was. Rachel and I walked into the living room where Matt was sat with his head in his hands.
"Matt. . ." I said, as he lifted his head up and looked at me. "We need to talk." I finished.
He nodded as he followed me up the stairs and into our bedroom.
I took a seat on the bed while Matt stood awkwardly by the door. Neither of us saying anything for a good five minutes.
"Is it true?" He finally asked. "Did you sleep with him?"
As much as I wanted to deny it, and as easy as it would of been to deny it, I didn't. I couldn't.
I nodded my head slowly.
"Why?" He asked.
"I. . .don't know." I said, softly.
"You do know. I know too. You love him, Christina." He said.
"I don't love him."
"Don't even try to deny it."
"Fine. I love him. . .but I love you too. And I'm getting married to you, not Jordan. I choose you, Matt."
"There shouldn't be a choice! You should love me whole-heartedly. You shouldn't love him."
"I can't choose who to love. What do you expect me to do?!" I asked.
"I expect you to at least do the decent thing and not sleep with him!" He shouted.
"It was one time, Matthew! I admit it was a mistake, but people make mistakes. So, sorry for being fucking human!"
"It was a pretty big mistake." He mumbled.
"Oh, you know all about those, huh?"
"I thought we moved on from that incident."
"Oh, no. That's as big of an issue as the one at hand. Not only do all our friends and family know about my infidelity, they also know that you hit me."
Matt was silent for a while and just paced back and forth across our bedroom, he finally spoke after a few minutes, "I'm going to beat the shit out of Jordan." He said, as he clenched his fists and walked towards the door.
"No!" I said, shooting up from the bed. Matt stopped in his tracks and turned to walk over to me.
"You're defending him after he just outed you to everyone?!" He shouted.
"I'm not defending him. You just shouldn't give him what he wants." I said.
"What does he want?"
"This. He wants us to fight and if you go to him now, you'd prove that."
"What do we do then?" He asked.
"We stay together. Deny everything Jordan said and move on."
"I don't know if I can." He said, softly.
"The least you can do is try. After all we've been through, you owe it to yourself to at least give this a shot."
"Alright." He sighed. "We'll try."
