22. Truth or dare

I know, the title is cliché as hell but... Let's say that the whole chapter is cliché... Hope you enjoy anyway ^^'

What did I just do ? Can someone explain to me how the hell I got here ? And why did I want to see her so bad ?

I watch her from the distance. She mumbles something but I'm too far away to hear. I come closer while hiding until I hear :

-Zack, you're a jerk ! You're the cutest jerk !

Ok, seems like I'm not the only one to lose my mind. Wait, did she call me the cutest ? (AN : she also called you a jerk but whatever)

I come closer again, to get a better sight of her and her surroundings. I'm not the only one who's spying on her apparently. Another guy is hiding behind a wall. Pretty badly by the way, cause I can see him from afar.

-We're not gonna get along you dumb shit...

Ok, I'm really losing my mind now... I need to get away from here, leaving the city, doing something for not becoming a freak. (NA : you're killing people man. you're already a freak). But if I leave, I'll never see Ray again. And it's the only thing that allowed me to think about something else than murder. If I leave, I will keep on killing and stealing until I get caught. And I wouldn't stay long until they execute me.

I stretch my body and go away. I don't know wher I'm going but I need to get away. Shit, if I was following my mind, this dumb kid would already be dead !

I stop. I'm in a dead-end. What the fuck I'm doing here ?

-Hey you brat ! What you're doin' here ? It's a private property ! Get out !

I lower my head and turn around. Damn old prick...

I wonder around town until the end of the day. I even followed Ray. I wait before her house now. Apparently, her father is back.

-You sure you'll be able to come back alone tomorrow ?

-Yeah don't worry Lenny, I'll manage. If I don't feel like it, I can ask Jane's mother to drive me home.

They go out tonight ? But where ?

I follow them. I'm curious. It's weird to go out at night without a good reason. And who's Jane ? Ray's not sleeping at her place tonight ?

-There's not gonna be any boys right ?

-Nope, only girls.

Her tone is weird, she's lying.

-You sure you don't want me to pick you up tomorrow ?

-Yeah, don't worry, Jane's mother wil drive me home. Stop worrying, it'll be alright.

-What if you have your nightmares again ?

She didn't think about that. Maybe there's still a slight hope ! Maybe she'll go back home after all !

-It'll be alright. I'll manage. I'll ask for some medicine if I need.

-Your pills are in your bag. I bought you some just in case. You have enough to last a week.

He gives her a backpack and stops before a house.

-It's here. I trust you. Stay out of trouble ok ? See you tomorrow sweetie !

-See you tomorrow Lenny.

She kisses him on the cheek and enters the house. The guy who was hiding earlier is here. For fuck sake ! I need to get out of here before I break someone's neck and I smash the whole house in the process...
