Everything was great until I had to move. For some reason my mom wanted to move back to her old hometown and it was way out in the country, no one had even heard of this town, yet there was. It wasn't on any map or even any documents of it. My sister, Lily, was more excited than I was, she was always more optimistic then I was. My mom was worried so she gave me a book, I couldn't read a word it said and it had strange symbols on it and a letter.
"Give that letter to Mr. Hart, he is an old friend of mine and he teaches at your new school." she says as she pushes me out the door.
"Wait I still need-" she shuts the door and it clicks locked "my backpack" I turn around and start to walk with only a weird book and a letter. I get to the school and just stop in my tracks.
The school is so out of place it deserves to be in a nicer place than this. It sits in a barren field with nothing but dirt and long grass but the school itself is beautiful with its tall pillars that reach to the very roof of the building, definitely looks like one of those rich kid schools, I pull up my phone to call my mom.
"Hey mom, are you sure this is the right place?"
"Big building, kind of a castle like structure?" she answers
"Yeah"
" Then you're at the right place, bye Drew see you when you get home"
"Wait why is it-" she hangs up before I can say anything again, so I walk across the field to the school. As I walk I see different things about the terrain like scorch marks, puddles, and broken rocks. I reach the doors of the school and push them open, inside is just as dignified as the outside, a grand stair case that reach to both sides of the room stands in the middle of the entry hall. I'm afraid to touch something just in case I break it so I just stay in the middle of the walkway.
"Hello" I call into the empty room "Is there someone I can talk to? I need to speak with a Mr. Hart." A girl in blue and long hazel hair walks down the stairs and faces me.
"I must ask you to hand me that book " her eyes look as if they are going to kill me.
"what? No I was told to only give it to a Mr.Hart, can you tell me were he is?"
"I said give me the book." she's not even listening to me. "NOW" water erupts from all over takes shape behind her back <Water Nymph's Lashing Whip> it swings at me as I jump back <Phoenix Fireball> fire flies from the other side of the hall on the lower floor, I fall against the wall and another girl dressed in red and blonde hair steps into the middle of the room.
"Jennifer, didn't you hear there was supposed to be a new student today and besides it's against the rules to fire spells at non-magical entities." the blonde says.
The one in blue steps down to meet with her.
"If he's a student then he is a magical entity meaning I can fire as many spells as it takes to kill him."
"Wait, what!? Magic? Kill me? WHAT!?" the blue one looks at me again and I jump up and run past the one in red back down the hall and up the stairs to the second floor. This is crazy. One I'm going to die, two magic is real, three I'm going to die by magical means.
"Get back here" she yells
"Why do you want to kill me anyway?"
"Cause of that book in your hand, to think the Lampad's son is finally here. If I can defeat you then I can prove that I'm stronger than her."
"Stronger than who!? Someone help me!" I keep running.
A teacher walks into the hall to see all the commotion. <Ifret's Whirlwind>
A tornado of fire swirls around me, man walks up to me and says.
"Andrew right? Here let me see that letter and the book, oh and I'm Mr. Hart by the way." I hand him the letter and the book to him. As he opens the letter water hits the swirl of fire.
"Found you" Mr. Hart pays no mind to the girl and just keeps reading.
"I see, so you grew up without the knowledge of magic then. Oh well, Jennifer would you be a dear and get the Orb of Creatures and place it in the training room."
"You mean his mother is the Lampad and she never even taught him even a single cantrip." she anger fills her face. She walks up to the walk of fire as close as she can get "Listen you, you better learn your spells and fast or there will be hell to pay, got it." she spits the threat out.
"R-right" she walks off down the hall and we follow close behind, Jennifer stops at a door and opens it, I try to look inside but she stops me.
"No"
"I'm not a dog you know" I reply
"I don't care, there are items in here that could kill you or turn you inside out or erase you from existence." she pushes me back.
"Wouldn't that still kill me?"
"Yes" she puts it bluntly. She goes back inside and brings back a large white orb holding it in one hand instead of two and we continue down the hall and outside to an extravagant garden.
"Jennifer this isn't the way to the training room" Mr. Hart remarks. We walk into a garden full of other students.
"Yeah I know" she turns to face me "I just thought that our new student would like an audience" she says as she tosses the orb at me, so I extend both my hands out to catch it, as soon as both hands are on it are on it, fire erupts from the ball sending pain rippling through my body.
"RRRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH" I scream and neel to the ground unable to take my hands off the sphere.
Everyone looks to our direction the sees me with the sphere and stands back.
The fire keeps getting more and more intense as it begins to take shape, wings unfold, a large head rises and roars as loud as thunder, pleased to finally be awake after sleeping for so long, a tail uncurls far to the ground and sweeps to the front of me burning several flowers, claws long as knives extend out and slice a thick tree branch like butter, and finally the pain stops and the Orb of Creatures rolls out of my hands and on to the ground. Sweat drips off of me and I look up and see...
