Elemental Magic- The Beginner Mage

He sits down in his chair and then pulls out a book that looks even older than the last one "This was a pain to find, there hasn't been a Dragon in over 500 years, so consider yourself lucky that I was able to find at least something on them" 

I take the book and riffle through it and I notice something "Sir this has other spells other than dragon"

"yes, the one who made that book was fascinated by magic and studied the greatest of their time, that time was called the Ather Age, when magic was at its strongest. Normally I would teach you myself, but in your case, that would be impossible for you, so you will have to make your own spells and cultivate your own power. Oh and before I forget, be careful of other students at the moment, having one of the most powerful creatures alive is not the best thing for a beginner right now. Everyone and I mean everyone will be wanting to take you out to prove there stronger than everyone else." 

"So I'm on my own in all this?"

"Yes, I'm sorry andrew there is not much I can do for you. The book I just give you is the only chance you've got in surviving all of this. You can sit here in my office and learn a couple spells before you go, you've got 10 minutes till your first class. Here is a map and your schedule." he hands me some papers and points to a chair for me to sit in, so I decide to sit and look for a null spell to make me faster and I find one that makes my eyesight better and then one that makes my response time faster, those seem really useful. I could definitely get out of trouble with spells like those in my pocket but I still need to worry about my speed, I mean all the other students have had their whole lives to study and learn magic while all I've got is two hours and ten minutes and four spells. Yep I'm gonna die. 

The bell rings telling everyone that class is about to begin. I peak out of the room into the hallway and find no one there. 

Not going to even chance it "to give an edge, thou calls upon the magic to enhance thy mind, Reflex Action" I chant while Mr. Hart cringes in discomfort then run into the hall of unknown dangers. Not even five feet from the door and a wall of ice tries to smash me in the ground but do to my spell I can react to it. Sliding to the wall I dodge the spell and skate towards the caster and knock him down before he finishes casting his spell and keep running to the classroom, then stone pillars start punching through the walls, ceiling, and floor. I jump over and around and duck under the stones till the caster blocks off the hall on both sides of me and tries to crush me. I use Gate to escape and keep running while whoever is trying to kill thinks they are and finally I reach my first class. But the class is prepared for me and have spells ready, the bell rings just in time and the class who was about to attack me at full force lets their spells go and I can relax for the next hour. the teacher walks in and sees me resting on the ground and she sighs.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" She had dark black hair that went down to her shoulders and red eyes that almost seemed to glow.

"No, I'm fine, but thank you for worrying about me."

"Alright then, welcome to item enchanting, oh before I get started do you know the storage spell? You'll need it if your going to be running through the halls like that." she asks me while giving me a hand up off the floor.

"No, I've only learned a few spells at the moment, I can't even cast elemental magic yet."

"well find the spell in your null book there and then turn to page 256 on this book for boot and shoe enchants." she hands me a new book Enchantments to Enhance Daily Life. "The rest of you turn to page 369 and read clothing and armor enhancements"

I look through the enchanting book and find multiple enchantments for a variety of things like weapons, gloves, and even glasses. I finally get to the shoes and boots area of the book and I find that there is not that many enhancements for shoes, all I see are reinforcement, speed and jumping. I wonder why there aren't  more for shoes, I mean I have tons of ideas. I'll just have to save them for later, I'll put speed on my shoes for now and jumping a little later. next I open up the spell book and look for this storage spell. After a while I find the spell and the chant, but after seeing how Mr. Hart reacted to my chanting I decide not to and try envisioning it but I'm not sure what it would look like. The teacher then puts up her hand and a circle with special writing appears and she takes a pen out of it and starts to write things down on her desk.

"Andrew would you come here for a moment?" she waves me down "I'm gonna let you go early since your being targeted by everyone but only if you can show me what you did to those shoes." I show her my shoes and force magic through it so that the rune that's on it appears "Hmm, not bad at all, nice amount of magic being put through it, warm glow and stable, yep these are safe to use. You are free to go"

"Thank you miss...?"

"Miss Merliy"

"Thank you Ms. Merliy" I raise my hand and form the storage circle back at my desk and scoop my books into it then leave.
