Chapter 57 - Guess we'll never know

"YES," I shout and smile.

He puts the ring on my finger as he kisses me before hugging me and spinning me around.

Everyone is shouting and clapping around us and I can't help but feel nauseous. This doesn't feel real.

I always imagined this moment to be magical and wonderful.

Not like this, no.

"You just made me the luckiest man on earth.. I love you so much." I smile genuinely and fakely at the same time.

I'm happy that he's happy instead of being embarrassed and heartbroken if I took the other way. But I'm sad that I'm going against my heart and betraying myself.

Did I make the right choice?

God, I don't know. But I think it's the most decent one with less damage.

If I said no I would've ruined over fifty people's moods and the party would be awkward.

My mom comes running to me with my dad behind her.

She envelops me in her arms and squeezes my soul out of my body.

"I can't believe this. Oh my god! Am I dreaming?" Her eyes are filled with tears.

"I.. This. I never thought... John, our little girl is getting married." She hugs my father too.

"Stop crying now, woman." He smiles at me.

"These are happy tears, John."

"Congratulations Anastasia. You guys are perfect for each other." My dad hugs me too.

No, dad. You're wrong.

Jake's parents with Amber and her family come and greet us next then everyone comes to us, one by one, and congratulates us too.

And finally, Jensen comes to us. I can't look at him, I'm afraid I will burst into tears and ruin everything I did so far.

He hugs his brother and then shakes my hand aggressively as I keep my eyes on the ground.

"I always knew you were going to be one of our family, Anastasia." I lift my eyes and just as I expected, his are bloodshot and he's literally looking into my soul, burning me alive.

"Thank you." I cut the tension by looking at Jake, smiling.

I'm barely holding my body on my feet.

"Look look look. Who knew Jake was ready to get married?" The snake comes running to us.

Yeah, she's the only one left so my misery completes.

"Congratulations." She hugs him. "Even though you could have done so much better." She whispers it out loud.

I'm not going to lose my temper because of her.

She's nothing, nothing.

Jake takes his hands from her as soon as she finishes that sentence.

"Well, we don't need your opinion Danneel. And I know Anastasia deserves the world and I'm going to give it to her." Jensen nods to himself, and his wife just shakes her head looking me up and down with her evil stare.

"I'm happy, Jake. I'm truly happy for you.. I.. this is by far the best decision you've ever made." Danneel says and adds under her teeth "Someone else could have done it but," she rolls her eyes, dramatically.

Oh god, she's unbelievable. She can't be serious right now. She's not going to create a scene right now, right here, right?

I don't know what to expect anymore. Everything is possible in this house.
